The strength in the market witnessed on day one of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale on Tuesday continued on the second day with four lots selling for seven figures headed by a son from the final crop of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice) who sold to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and TFI for $1.7 million.

During the first two days of the sale 338 of the 359 lots offered have sold, producing a clearance rate of a staggering 94 per cent. The aggregate of $97,007,500 is up 13.6 per cent compared to last year's figure of $85,395,000. The average is up 10.9 per cent from $258,773 to $287,004 while the median has increased 26 per cent from $180,000 to $227,500.

Ciaron Maher Bloodstock is the leading buyer having spent $6,850,000 on 18 lots while China Horse Club, Newgate and Trilogy Racing have spent $5,665,000 on 12 yearlings.

Not A Single Doubt is the leading sire by average (with 3 or more lots sold) with those three yearlings averaging $1,025,000.

Newgate Farm meanwhile is the leading vendor by aggregate having sold 17 yearlings so far for $6,900,000. Emirates Park meanwhile is the leading vendor by average with the four yearlings they have sold averaging $562,500.

Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch is unsurprisingly delighted with the results achieved during the first two days of the sale.

"It's been an outstanding market thus far," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch noted. "We are over $10 million up on the same time last year and that was an all time record."

"The average price is over $287,000 – we are talking big, big numbers. The industry is in great shape at the moment and the Magic Millions brand is going from strength to strength."

"We are delighted with the way things are rolling and there's still plenty more horses to go through the ring with so many opportunities for buyers over the coming days," Bowditch added.

Day three of the sale begins at 10am (QLD time) on Thursday.
