Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and Kestrel Thoroughbreds went to $900,000 to secure the second foal out of Waterhouse's dual Group One winner Global Glamour (Star Witness). The filly, who was sold by Coolmore Stud ast Lot 78, is from the first southern hemisphere-bred crop of Coolmore shuttler Justify (Scat Daddy) and was one of three lots to sell for $900,000 on Tuesday.

Global Glamour was herself a graduate of this sale - bought by James Bester for $65,000 at the 2015 renewal -  and went on to win the Flight Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) and Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) before selling for $1.55 million, in foal to Zoustar (Northern Meteor), to Tom Magnier and Gerry Harvey at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2019.

Waterhouse paid $600,000 for the filly's Zoustar half brother at the sale last year.

"She's a lovely big rangey filly and we couldn't be more impressed by her," Waterhouse said.

"She's got all the scope that you want, she's by a champion sire that John Magnier sent his best mares to and out of a multiple Group One-winning mare that was able to win a Group One race one Saturday and back up the following week. That just doesn't happen overseas, she had such stamina."

The first lot through the ring on Tuesday was also by Justify and made $450,000 when bought by China Horse Club, Newgate Bloodstock and Trilogy Racing. Also sold by Coolmore Stud, the colt is out of the dual Group Three winning I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) mare Eckstein.

Four of the five lots offered by Justify on Tuesday sold for $1,600,000 at an average of $400,000. He covered a book of 149 mares during his first southern hemisphere season in 2019, producing 96 live foals.
