The Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale has received a banner entry to its supplementary catalogue with Lighthouse confirmed as an entry for the anticipated sale.

The Group 1-winning daughter of Mizzen Mast and the North Light mare More Hoping will go under the hammer on Day 1 of the sale, May 24.

A five-year-old by Southern Hemisphere time, the American mare has been a revelation since joining the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace camp last year.

After announcing herself with a BM84 win over 1206m at Kyneton, she won a 1400m BM84 on Ballarat Cup Day before back-to-back wins at Flemington, the latter coming in the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes (1400m).

Her winning streak ended with a luckless second placing in the Listed Barton Stakes (1400m), while she also finished second in the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes (1400m) at the same track before embarking on a Sydney campaign.

After a second placing in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) Lighthouse got her prized Group 1 win in the Coolmore Classic (1500m) before midfield efforts in the Doncaster Mile (1600m) and last Saturday's Queen Of The Turf (1600m).

Jason Litt of Solis/Litt Bloodstock, who purchased Lighthouse for US$375,000 at the breeze-up sales in America, was thrilled with what Lighthouse was able to achieve in Australia after three wins and as many placings from nine start in the US.

"Alex (Solis II) and I had visited Australia on a number of occasions and were always looking for the right horse to bring and race," Litt said.

"She ended up going to Victoria because that was the same direction she had raced at home.

"What she has achieved in a short time in Australia has been remarkable. To win a Group 1 at her eighth start here is amazing.

"Lighthouse is by a top sire in the US and she is a great physical that's for sure. She will present beautifully at the sale."

Lighthouse will be offered through the Arrowfield Stud draft at the National Broodmare Sale, which also features star mares including Tofane and Away Game.

That trio will also be offered in the race fillies and mares catalogue on Day 1 of the sale with the sale to continue on May 25 and 26.
