Sottsass colt sells to Tally Ho for €115,000 to top session
Three lots sold for six figures during the opening day of the Goffs February Sale on Wednesday, with the most expensive of these being a colt from the first crop of Coolmore Stud's Sottsass (Siyouni) who sold from Baroda Stud to Tally Ho for €115,000.
Offered late in the day as Lot 126, the colt is the first foal out of placed Camelot (Montjeu) mare Stage Call.

Earlier in the day, a colt by Darley's Night Of Thunder (Dubai) sold from Ringfort Stud to JS Bloodstock and Rogues Gallery for €110,000. The colt is out of winning mare Serene Beauty (Street Cry), a half sister to 11 winners including the Group 1 winner Bandini (Fusaichi Pegasus).
The third six figure sale of the day came when Shamrock Thoroughbreds and Team Valor teamed up to buy four-year-old winning colt Tosen Wish (New Bay). Sold by The Casltebridge Consignment, Tosen Wish has raced three times for two wins, his first coming as a juvenile when trained by Takashi Kodama and his latest coming on 1 February at Dundalk over seven furlongs for trainer Joseph O'Brien.
Stephen Thorn of Shamrock Thoroughbreds said that Tosen Wish will join the yard of Ado McGuinness.
"He has a nice profile and seems a straightforward horse," said Thorne.
"We will give him time but he looks like a nice horse for the premier handicaps in the summer."
Overall on Wednesday, 128 lots sold for €2,056,250. The average finished at €16,064 and the median was €9,000. The sale continues on Thursday.
