Constant Dreaming set to be covered by I Am Invincible after being secured for $275,000

Broodmare prospect Constant Dreaming (Blackfriars) topped Wednesday's Inglis Digital February (Late) Sale, which saw 12 lots reach six figures and four sold for $200,000 or more. The sale grossed $4,925,300, making it the biggest February online auction since the platform began.

Offered by Perth trainer Adam Durrant, Constant Dreaming was bought by Gail Bloodstock. 

"West Australian families probably aren't as popular as the Eastern States ones so we thought somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000 would be a great result and she made the upper end of that, so it's super," said Durrant. 

A three-time winner and placed in another four of her 16 career starts, the four-year-old daughter of Blackfriars (Danehill) won the Listed Ascot 1000 Guineas (1800m) and Listed Natasha Stakes (2200m) last autumn. She also placed third in the Group 3 WA Oaks (2400m). 

Brett Gall of Gall Bloodstock said no final decision on the mare's immediate future had been made.

"We'll get her here to NSW and she'll probably race on for a bit, maybe with someone like Ron Quinton, but she's been bought to go to I Am Invincible which will happen later this year,'' Brett said.

Yulong continued to add to their broodmare band and secured five of the top 12 lots, all mares, purchasing Morioka (Maurice) ($230,000), Night Call (O'Reilly) ($205,000), Taurasi (Flying Artie) ($200,000), Tinkers (Dundeel) ($105,000) and Ballon Bleu (Written Tycoon) ($95,000). 

"We'll keep looking at mares that are available, Mr Zhang has a target number that he wants to get to so we'll keep looking at finding the right mares for the stallions,'' Yulong's Sam Fairgray said.

"It's about trying to get a good mix of bloodlines to support our stallions.

"Morioka will be retired and go to a September cover, probably to Tagaloa, Night Call will probably go to Alabama Express and Taurasi is obviously on a late cover to Extreme Choice so we're looking forward to getting the foal out of her and we might even breed her here to Northern Hemisphere time.''

The Godolphin draft of 16 grossed $892,500, headed by four-year-old gelding Kanazawa (Lonhro) at $160,000 and Camaguey (Teofilo) - another four-year-old gelding - at $150,000. Popular maiden Shalatin (Shalaa) realised $100,000 and will continue his racing days in Asia, having been purchased by Singapore trainer Jason Lim for $100,000. 

All three five per cent shares in exciting Inglis Sprint-bound three-year-old Benedetta (Hellbent) sold, two for $28,000 and one for $27,500.
