Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 25.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Randwick, Sandown Hillside, Doomben, Belmont Park and Murray Bridge.
RANDWICK: RACE 2 @ 11:35 AM
NAVY BLOOD (1) is a progressive colt destined for better things. Sprinted well fresh in the heavy (9) going when a dominant 2.5 len winner over 1200m at Newcastle as favourite in this class on May 11. Fitter now and better suited out to the 1400m. Can carry the extra weight and win again. SUMO STAR (10) only the one win from 20 starts and due for a change of luck. Sat on the speed with the 52kg and given every chance when second over 1200m at Newcastle at the latest. Placed this trip and expected to take a hand in the finish again. PUTT FOR DOUGH (4) is holding his form well this time in and total forgive at the latest after getting out late when seventh over 1500m at Hawkesbury on May 4. This looks easier and has good figures at this course and trip. NOVEMBER FALLS (11) two runs back have been encouraging and down sharply in weight here after finishing fourth over 1300m at Warwick Farm on May 8. King keeps the ride and can sneak into the minor money.
SELECTIONS: Navy Blood to win.

DOOMBEN: RACE 4 @ 12:53 PM
The well-related CLEAN ENERGY (4) (full to 3xG1 winner Sunlight) debuted in spectacular fashion at Warwick Farm on a bottomless surface when leading all the way and is sure to have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Drawn to get across easily from gate three for Hippo and can go right on with the job now. LINCOLNSHIRE (2) saluted at Listed level when facing the starter for the first time before just missing the placings in the Vobis Showdown at Caufield. Gets Lane on and must be respected from the Moody/Coleman stable. ZATANNA (7) absolutely stonked them in lesser grade at Ipswich on debut and deserves her shot at this level. Top-three candidate. POSTER GIRL (1) wasn't disgraced in the 2YO Classic at the Goldy in January before being given time to mature. Can make her presence felt while fresh. LADY SHENANDOAH (9) comes through that same Clean Energy race and may feature with natural improvement.
SELECTIONS: Clean Energy to win again.
SANDOWN-HILLSIDE: RACE 4 @ 1:00 PM
FASUTO (1) was a big winner first-up at Mornington in BM70 grade, lugging 62kg but running on strongly from midfield to score by 3 lengths. He's proven in this grade and has options from the wide draw. If he repeats that run he'll take a power of beating. PERILOUS FIGHTER (4) can mix his form but wasn't beaten far last start in a handy BM90 at Caulfield when fourth. If he brings his best he should go close. WILLIAM THOMAS (7) was unlucky last start here but that comes with his awful racing pattern. Will be running on strongly again. MRS CHRISSIE (6) won well last time over 1100m and should give a sight again.
SELECTIONS: Fasuto to win.
BELMONT PARK: RACE 3 @ 1:11 PM
GODDESS OF GIVING (6) ran on well over 1100m first-up at Ascot and returns to a course and distance where she is unbeaten. This is a tougher race, but she drops nicely in weight and she has plenty of ratings good enough to be winning a race like this. Tends to peak second-up and can get back to winning ways. THOMAS MAGNUM (4) was given a nice time of it out the back over 1200m last time out and looks set up for this event. Back to this course and distance is a big tick and CJP gets back in the saddle. Draw is a slight niggle, but he's bound to bounce back in a big way. BARNEY'S WORLD (7) pulled up with an issue last start after a high-rating win at Ascot the start prior. Down in the weights now with Chris Parnham riding, he ticks plenty of boxes. Live chance with plenty of upside. BEADS (1) loves this track and trip and warrants plenty of respect. CAPRICORN MAN (8) can feature in the finish first-up on the back of a nice trial coming in.
SELECTIONS: Goddess Of Giving goes on top.
MURRAY BRIDGE: RACE 9 @ 3:47 PM
PRESS DOWN (9) ran a belter fresh when beaten 1.4L by subsequent G1 Goodwood winner Benedetta in the G3 RN Irwin Stakes. Produced another solid effort in G3 company again last start, only beaten a tick over 2L. Sets up perfectly for this and is expected to take plenty of stitching. DELIGHTFUL SHECKY (10) has returned in career-best form this campaign as he shoots for four on the bounce. Form impossible to knock and there's no reason he can't step up to the mark again. KARACASU (6) beat home Press Down by a neck two back but now meets 2.5kgs worse. Comes through some the state's strongest races of the carnival and deserves serious consideration. Worth noting the blinkers go on first time at start 21. Keep in mind. ANILLA (8) has been thereabouts in his last two and could be ready to burst through. SWEET BABY BOOM (13) next best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Press Down to win.
