Tips And Selections For Muswellbrook Cup Day

3 minute read

With the temperature set to sizzle on Sunday the Muswellbrook Cup meeting has been transferred to a morning meeting to avoid the oppressive heat. And with all that in mind lets see if we can find a few winners on the card including who might take home the $25,000 winners cheque for the cup over the 571 metres.

It's an action packed meeting this Sunday at Muswellbrook and we have done all the homework in search of finding three greyhounds worth following on the 10 race card program which includes the $25,000 Muswellbrook cup over the 571 metres on Sunday morning.

Best Bet - Race 2 Number 5 Tiny Hands Johns @2 Fixed Odds New South Wales T.A.B

Tiny Hands Johns trained by Robert Howard looks very hard to beat here in the second race of the day. The daughter of Aston Dee Bee has an oustanding over all record of 20 race starts for 8 wins and 9 minor placings and contested a Non Graded race here in April last year and ran a very impressive 24.44 best of day for the 431 metre journey. She has been recently racing in tougher graded races at Gosford and Bulli and this is a more than suitable race for her. The threat will come from the 7 however she should be too good for this field with box 6 vacant beside her.

Best Each Way Bet - Race 8 Number 3 Twist And Shake @$4 Fixed Odds New South Wales T.A.B

Twist And Shake ran an impressive fourth here last week when contesting a heat of the Muswellbrook Cup in which the Mark Gatt trained Leg Speed broke the track record. The daughter of My Bro Fabio moves from a Non Graded race back to a fifth grade here and although she can be moderate out of the boxes she is a daughter of My Bro Fabio and tends to be very strong in the back end of her races. 8 of her 11 career wins have all come from boxes 1 to 4 so the three box here is a major benefit. She will be very hard to beat.

$25,000 Muswellbrook Cup Selection -Race 7 No 5 Embrace @ $4.50 Fixed Odds New South Wales T.A.B

This Group One winning bitch trained by Craig Chappelow has been in fantastic form over the last month and a half and is the winner of the Group One Peter Mosman Opal. In the past she has raced against the likes of She's A Pearl and has been very competitive. Her heat time win last week must be forgotten when assesing her chances as she shied at a water pump adjacent to the home turn when winning here last week with her first look at the track. Although she may want to use a bit of the track entering the first turn she should have enough pace to be with Ritza Debra entering the first turn. And although Leg Speed broke the track record he is poorly boxed this week considering he is a moderate beginner.

If class is anything to go by and in major races it counts for a lot. Then we should see Embrace adding to her amazing career and saluting in the $25,000 to the winner Muswellbrook cup contested over the 571 metre journey. Racings begins at the amended time of 9.57am. And the cup itself will be run and won at 11.37am. Good luck and good punting.
