The Luke McCarthy-trained stablemates make their return in the Ultra Air Pace while Constantinople is also back on track following an Inter Dominion Trotters bid and will be a major player in the Allcott Hire Bay Johnny Trotters Free For All.

Race-by-race preview of Menangle, Saturday January 27

Race 1: ALLIED EXPRESS SPECIALISED LOGISTICS PACE

OUR COSMIC MAJOR (5) is flying having recorded five wins and a second form his last six starts. Had enough speed to lead from the outside and win the New Years Gift Final last start so can push forward again from a lower draw. Has only once been beaten in five visits to this circuit. Take beating. LAST TANGO IN HEAVEN (3) has been competitive of late with a string of top-four finishes to his name and kept the ball rolling last time when he drew wide and raced deep but fought on to be beaten less than 2m into second. No excuses from this more advantageous draw so can figure in the finish again. DENIS WILLIAM (8) disappointed when well fancied last start but is suited back to a distance where he has won six of eight attempts. He is capable of much better. SAHARA SIROCCO (11) cops a tougher draw than last week but must be respected off that win over Last Tango In Heaven.

Race 2: BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE

LOUS DREAM (7) resumes for new trainer Jason Grimson having produced some strong form in Brisbane last campaign, winning three back at Albion Park. Yet to miss a place when fresh and was readied with a solid trial. Well placed to kick off in Sydney with a win. ROCKOKOKO (1) was disappointing last start but his two other efforts at this circuit since a spell were strong, winning fresh and missing by just a nose two back. Can bounce back aided by the ace draw. OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (4) kicked off the campaign with back-to-back country wins then worked when parked here last time. Draws a couple of spots lower so can get into the finish. SWELL TIME (5) has claims off a placing from a wide barrier here two back.

Race 3: MENANGLE PARK COMMUNITY PACE

JALANEEL (6) was well fancied here last week but blew his chances by breaking in the score-up. Also had little go to plan two back when he copped a check and broke but still managed to clock in fourth. With manners and even luck he can bounce back. DARK TERROR (10) produced a strong showing last week when he was prominent early and kept giving for second at this circuit. Draws out this time but is still capable of playing a major role. RYANS GANGSTER (4) started at big odds but performed well to place behind a Group 1 winner last week. Must respect off that. DADNDAVE (8) and GIMMEFIVEMINUTESMORE (3) are both two-time fresh winners resuming off two trials. Both are worth keeping safe.

Race 4: SUCCESS STUD EQUINE BREEDING LADYSHIP PACE

ILLAVABUBBLES (6) is flying having impressively won her two starts at this circuit since switching from Brisbane. Led from a similar barrier last week before drawing away to score by close to 14m. Takes another step up in grade but a hat trick is on the cards. MAJIC MOMENT (8) will be improved by her resuming effort for the new stable when she tackled a handy line-up of mares. Draws the same barrier but is suited in this field and owns a good strike rate at this distance. LITTLE BLISS (9) comes through the same race as Majic Moment and narrowly beat her home. Draws wide again but she too will enjoy the class drop. KEILOR BABY SHARK (1) drew much wider when fourth to Illavabubbles last week. She is an exotic player from the ace draw.

Race 5: ULTRA AIR PACE

SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (10) was very consistent through the Inter Dominion series, twice going under by just a head in the heats before a fourth from the back row in the final at his last appearance. Has never missed a place in six attempts at this distance, winning four of them. He is good enough to overcome the wide draw. His stablemate CANTFINDABETTORMAN (11) didn't have the best of luck through the Inter Dominion series but he placed behind Leap To Fame in the third round of heats before winning the consolation. Draws widest but owns good statistics both here and at the distance. TAIPO (6) sat parked when fourth in the Shepparton Cup last start after working as runner up in the Shirley Turnbull Memorial at Bathurst. He came from wider when winning here three back. Contender. MAGICIAN (8) is working up to a win and there was plenty to like about his last-start second from this same draw. WOW HES A ROCK STAR (4) is also drawn to play a role.

Race 6: ALLCOTT HIRE BAY JOHNNY TROTTERS FFA

CONSTANTINOPLE (4) has been freshened since the Inter Dominion series in Brisbane where he won the consolation in his last appearance. He is five from five at this circuit and also unbeaten at the distance. Races well when fresh so must go on top. HAVE NO FEAR (3) has been hard to fault of late and he made it three wins from his last four starts at this circuit when getting home by 2.3 metres last week. Likely to get all the favours from this nice draw. Contender. SUNNY GEE (1) is working up to a win off back-to-back placings, last week coming from a 10m handicap for second to Have No Fear. Should be competitive again from the ace draw. MAJESTIC TRIO (6) broke from the stand start when resuming last week. She is a Group 1 winner so is capable with manners. VICTREE HILL (8) resumes for a new yard and was readied with a trial win so keep him safe.

Race 7: TAB WE'RE ON PACE

MISTER ROBIN HOOD (5) made a strong return in a higher-graded race last week when chasing home Group 1 winner Captains Knock, beaten only 2.5m. He'll be fitter for that hitout and is yet to miss the top two since arriving from NZ. Big chance. GOLDEN BAY (3) is a newcomer to the Jason Grimson yard from Brisbane where he placed two back at Albion Park. Draws well and can measure right up. MONTEFIORE (4) scored a deserved win from a wider gate here on Tuesday to follow back-to-back seconds. He can feature again on the back up. IDEAL REDEMPTION (2) has been racing well at Penrith and is worth some thought from the low draw.

BEST BETS:

Race 1 #5 Our Cosmic Major – he has been chalking up the wins and is drawn to deliver again.

Race 4 #4 Constantinople – well placed to maintain his unbeaten records at the circuit and the distance.
