Jamaica Turbo remained unbeaten when following up a debut success at Vincennes on Monday by drawing right away in the home straight displaying a turbo engine speed to produce a wide margin triumph.
Driver Francois Lagadeuc settled the two-year-old daughter of Charly du Noyer out in front and took up the pace setting duties in the early stages. The filly set a very strong tempo with twenty lengths covering the field at the halfway point. She continued to catch the eye when keeping up what appeared a very strong speed whilst maintaining her rhythm when racing down the far side holding her advantage.
With 700m to go, the Fabrice Souloy trained filly still had the gold medal position with a two-length lead turning for home. At this point, Jamaïca Turbo picked up the pace even further and she opened up to power clear with an impressive turn of foot. The winning margin did not reflect the true running as François Lagadeuc eased down the filly in the final 50m.
Charly du Noyer was a top-class performer and winner of the 2015 G1 Critérium des 3 ans (2700m) and the 2016 G1 Critérium des 4 ans (2850m). Arguably he was at best during his younger years and this latest offspring looks one to keep in mind with success at La Capelle on debut and now Vincennes.
