Judopock was a very easy winner at Cagnes-sur-Mer last Saturday in a Class F autostart posting an impressive and eye-catching debut.

For many of the ten runners it was not the cleanest of starts resulting in multiple early disqualifications and one competitor appearing distracted by the view of the Mediterranean by diving to the outside of the course. However, the eventual winner avoided the trouble and chaos as he went to share the lead after 300m, taking the first left-handed turn entering the home straight. Judopock alongside Jouruntome sprinted clear to be over five lengths ahead of the chasing pack early on.

It was a strong tempo throughout due to the leading pair going so far clear in the first half of the race. When the field passed their starting point, Christophe Martens made a move on the debutant to stretch clear again and took a definite advantage in the final 700m. Quickly the son of Uriel Speed opened away impressively rounding the final turn going three lengths clear before the Vincent Martens trained gelding continued to increase speed and lead rivals.

When the newcomer entered the final 300m turning for home, his advantage was up to six lengths, and he never appeared to be under pressure. Christophe Martens was able to ease and finish a comfortable winner on debut.

Sire, Uriel Speed was a two-time group winner in his short racing career with success coming in the G3 Prix Vindex (2700m) at Vincennes and the G2 Prix Phaeton (2850m) at the same track in 2012.

Judopock recorded a 1'17''1 during this winning debut performance. Plenty of progress is likely from the three-year-old, considering he represents the Vincent Martens stable. This was a highly eye-catching victory with his dominance and speed in this event worth noting.
