The Prix Jean Prat has undergone multiple changes over the years and is now positioned on the French Calendar as a race over 1400m suiting horses who look to go further than sprint journey's and 'milers' who are able to drop back in trip. This race is one of the few European Group One's to have eluded trainer Aidan O'Brien and his smart filly, Tenebrism, changed that with her convincing win under a perfect ride from Ryan Moore. Jumping well from an outside gate, she was allowed to settle behind midfield but no more than four lengths from the early leader Texas. Inside the final 400m, Tenebrism commenced her run moving between both Rozgar and Lusail grabbing the lead with 100m to travel drawing clear from rivals to take her second Group One by one-and-a-quarter lengths. Less than a half-length covered the next five home with the fast-finishing Light Infantry grabbing second narrowly ahead of the staying on Lusail. |
