Jockey Club appoints Mr Gary Delooze as Executive Director, Information Technology

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (3 January) the appointment of Mr Gary Delooze as Executive Director, Information Technology (EDIT) with effect from 15 January 2024.

Mr Delooze will be a member of the Board of Management and report directly to the Club's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

As EDIT, Mr Delooze will lead the Information Technology (IT) Division to develop and implement the Club's IT strategy and transformation in alignment with the Club's business priorities. A major part of his role will be to enhance IT efficiency and resilience, while driving innovation in its applications and systems to further enhance the Club's leading position and best practices in Racing, Wagering, Membership and other functions. Mr Delooze will also play a key role in many of the Club's strategic programmes.

Mr Delooze is a seasoned IT leader with extensive experience in digital transformation, cloud, agile delivery and operational resilience. With a proven track record in leading large teams and complex IT operations and transformation initiatives, he has worked on projects in the United Kingdom (UK), the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Hong Kong. 

Prior to joining the Club, Mr Delooze was the Chief Information Officer of the Co-operative Bank in the UK. Before that, he was the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer of the Nationwide Building Society, one of the largest financial services firms in the UK. Mr Delooze has also built and led IT consulting practices in PwC, Ernst & Young and IBM.

Mr Delooze graduated from the University of Salford with a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science.
