Ridden by four times champion jockey Luis Corrales, Luen On Treasure was always traveling well in the run behind pace maker Surdmaster. Once in the straight the three year quickly took command and raced away for an easy five lengths win.

Surdmaster (Wayne Smith) battled on well for second with Luen On Star a stablemate to the winner running on for third.

Prepared by Geoff Allendorf Luen On Treasure made it win number three in Macau with three minor placings from his ten runs to date.

By Dane Shadow, Luen On Treasure is a product of the MJC’s 2015 Karaka Ready To Run Online Sales, where he was knocked down to owner Thomas Lau for $NZ60,000.

Third placed Luen On Star who is a winner of three races from eight starts was also an online sales purchase, this time from The Star Ready 2 Race Inglis Sales from Sydney where he was acquired for $60,000 Aud.

Even second placed Surdmaster was a $A35,000 purchase at the Magic Millions 2YO’s in Training sale of 2015, giving the online sales horses a clean sweep of the 1500 metres event.

Geoff Allendorf is highly optimistic about the future of both his horses and paid tribute to owner Thomas Lau for his patience with the youngsters.

“Zac Purton rode him (Luen On Treasure) last start on Derby day and said he was very unlucky so it’s good to make amends today.”

“To run first and third for Thomas Lau and his family in the main race of the day is very pleasing, he is a good solid owner with patience.”

“As Bart Cummings said patience is the cheapest thing in racing, but seldom used” Allendorf added.

Allendorf was referring to the decision to leave both horses in their country of origin to allow them time to grow and mature. Both of them were later shipped to Macau to commence racing as early three year olds.

Luen On Treasure was strong at the end of the 1500 metres and could well shape up into a nice Derby prospect for next season. Add to that the fact that the gelding has proved that he can handle any type of track, bodes well for his future prospects.

Luen On Star has proved to a real find on the all weather track with three dazzling wins and has proved with Saturday’s performance that he is capable on the turf.
