Sent out as the $8 favourite in the 16-horse field, Street Of Dreams box-seated on settling from barrier two for jockey Ronnie Stewart on the back of Circuit Mission (Wong Chin Chuen), who raced on the flank of the early leader, Hongkong Great (Vlad Duric).

Hongkong Great maintained a solid clip up front in the strung-out field with Circuit Mission keeping him honest into the straight and Stewart – just like he did at his last-start win - made an early move on Street Of Dreams in a bid to put the race to bed at the 400m.

Whether it was the extra three kilos on a rain-affected track or the fact that both Hongkong Great and Circuit Mission were in for the fight, Street Of Dreams  only levelled up with the leading pair by the 200m and the favourite's backers only heaved a sigh of relief after the son of Dundeel got the better of his opposition with less than 100m to go.

It was an epic battle and the final margin of the half-a-length win over Hongkong Great certainly did not do the spectacle justice while the gallant Circuit Mission ran another three-quarters-of-a-length away in third.

The winning time was 1min 33.33secs for the 1600m on the Long Course.

It was not as easy as his romp in the same company over 1400m three weeks ago but it was about getting another win that mattered to Stewart.

"At the end of the day, he won again and the margin doesn't matter," he said.

"I spoke with (trainer) Steve (Steven Burridge) afterwards and told him that the conditions (yielding track) probably got the better of him (Street Of Dreams).

"Vlad quickened up (on Hongkong Dream) at the 700m and I knew we felt the wet track and I thought we may not have the dash like we did at his last start.

"I got going earlier than I would have liked but also always thought that we had their measure. I think he would be better on top of the ground too.

"Good horses get the job done and he's a good horse."

Burridge agreed with the winning hoop but was not letting the occasion get the better of him.

"He's (Street Of Dreams) done a good job," said the Australian conditioner to racing presenter Pat Comerford post race.

"To win six (races) straight and on a wetter track today; he maybe wasn't as suited as he was previously.

"He can only win and he's doing well in the stable. I think the experience alone will do him a world of good. He'll keep going."

When asked about a Group 1 Raffles Cup (1800m) tilt on March 25, Burridge opted to keep his cards close to his chest.

"Up in the air," he continued.

"(We'll) just go home and see how the horse is. The main thing is that the horse is okay."

Besides Street Of Dreams, Burridge also saddled two other winners on the day with Street Cry Success ($32) in the $50,000 Class 4 Division 2 race over 1400m and Seson ($83) in the $50,000 Class 4 race over 1100m.

His hat-trick of wins took his season tally to nine wins thus far and vaulted him up to second on the trainers' premiership, just one win behind leader, Michael Clements.

Burridge pointed out that he only had a small yard and yet, the stable was punching well above its weight.

"I've only got 20 (horses) there (in his stable). I've had a really good run so if anyone wants to give me a horse, I have room!"

With six wins and one second in 10 starts, the Joe Giovanni-owned Street of Dreams has taken his total earnings close to $230,000.
