RACE 1

FAST AND FEARLESS – Really consistent performer. Has a great record over this track and distance. Most recently finished 3rd behind Smart Gambit, was held up slightly in the straight and flew home from the back of the field. Can measure up again.

SUPERMAX – Has been a little frustrating for punters most recently. Had every chance last start and faded early in the straight. Usually has a break between races. Distance will suit. Is still a danger.

RED ROAR – One of the more experienced horses in the field. Raced wide last start but ran home well for a minor placing in early December. Can sometimes be one-paced and will need to peak.

BEN WADE – Had excuses last start and is on the quick-backup. Finishes its races off strongly and will need to sit closer in the run.

RACE 2

FIRE – Racing well, sits in the second half of the field and works home late. Been around the placing in its short career and has had a nice trial behind Pacific Crown on the 28th of December.

FLYING SUCCES – A promising 3yo, has shown ability in its four starts. Trials have been average but saves it for race day. Could be right in this.

ROYAL COMISSION – Can get keen in its races and is still learning. Got in for a minor placing in open maiden company on the 9th of December. Trials have been okay.

LIM'S SMYTHE – Will need to find another level. Can begin awkwardly from the gates. Ran home well last time out to finish behind the placings.

RACE 3

ACE SOVERIEGN – Has strong stats at this course and distance and is trying to turn his luck around to score another win. His best is more than good enough to score here.

FORTUNE WHEEL – Very adaptable galloper who is strong on both surfaces. Found winning form back in class five recently and can go on with it here.

FLAMING MIGLIORE – Likes to inject speed into his races and from barrier one he should find the front and hold the rail easily. Can bounce back here.

BLUE IDOL – Carries no weight for Zaki and comes off a nice win with Duric in the saddle that day. Doesn't win all that often but can feature in the money.

RACE 4

LIM'S BIGHORN – Placing in its first start for the Lim's stable after multiple trials. Should enjoy the sprint distance and has won a recent trial on the 28th of December. Has ability.

OCEAN JUPITER – Wasn't disgraced last start finishing second, began slowly and raced wide without cover. Has had a recent trial and could be a danger.

STARBOY – Seems to relish the 1200m and hasn't been too far off the mark. Didn't have a lot of luck with barriers in the last two starts behind Gamely. Will be strong late.

BRAVO KID – Got too far back last start over 1400m on the turf track. Should enjoy coming back onto the poly. Has had a couple of weeks to freshen.

RACE 5

TENNET TENTENNET – Still green and won well last start. Will enjoy these race conditions and had a moderate trial at his most recent outing.

MR BIG BROTHER – Coming out of the same race behind Tennet Tentennet. Was given every possible chance with apprentice claims and was just beaten. Has good form on the poly track over this distance and in this class.

SKY EIGHT – On the quick-backup, brave in defeat last start, had to work hard chasing the leader in a fast run race and got ran down late. Will now step up to 1600m and should be around the speed. A solid chance.

TAVI WILL DO – Has had two good performances off late. May have found the 1400m too sharp last time out and now goes back to 1600m. Will be one of on-pacers and should be respected. Had an okay trial on the 28th of December.

RACE 6

FILIAL DRAGON – Well bred gelding finds his way into a winnable race. Will need plenty of luck from the wide draw but has the ability.

GOLDEN BROWN – Starting to become very costly for those who follow him but don't jump off the ship yet. He has shown glimpses of ability and looks an untapped product. Can score here from barrier one.

GROOVY – He has really turned a corner making it back-to-back wins and in good style too I may add. Trainer has him flying and now is the time to follow.

ENGINE START – Gets an inside draw for Kellady and last years leading stable. He is more suited to a mile or more but can run on late with his fitness.

RACE 7

WAN LEGACY – Had every chance last start with a fast speed and couldn't chase down Crown Dancing. A solid competitor in this class, likes to roll forward and be on speed. Enjoys 1600m and can measure up in this.

TIGAROUS – Ran a nice second last time out off the back of a good trial. Does step up to 1600m from 1100m. Dragged back from a good barrier last start and flashed home to finished second behind Takhi.

FORTUNE STAR – Has had some time off since last start, sat midfield and couldn't pick up in the straight. Does have good experience at the trip but will need to bounce back. Watch betting.

MISSILE RAIN – Dragged back to the second half of the field last start and never sighted. Ran a nice fourth back on the 2nd of December. Comes back onto the poly track and will carry next to no weight which will help.

RACE 8

CITY GOLD STAR – Gets the blinkers added for the first time this weekend and Espindola booked to ride. Has some strong form lines around him and gets a good draw in gate three.

LORD'S COMMAND – Expecting this gelding to rise in the ratings this season and keep improving. Has had a freshen up and Nunes takes the ride.

ASIF – Stable apprentice takes his first ride and gets a great opportunity for his master Steven Burridge. This gelding is in top form and gets a four-kilogram claim.

PACIFIC MASTER – A winner of two of his last three starts. Jumps from a midfield draw for Queiroz will look to run into the money with some luck.

RACE 9

OPUNAKE – Has an average record and recently dropped down to class 5 company. Ran a nice third last start flying home off a slow speed. Could be a solid competitor. Trainer, Jason Ong is in great form.

SMART GAMBIT – Lightly raced 4yo with a win and minor placing from six starts. Most recently won in this class over a 1000m on the poly track defeating Super Baby in good time. Looks hard to beat and will be the key player.

CASH KING – Good record to date. Last start had no excuses, sat on speed, stuck on well to finish second behind Gamely. Comes back onto the poly track and has ability. Could improve.

OUTFIT – Goes well on the poly track over sprint distances. Usually goes forward and has a high cruising speed, should be right in the finish.

RACE 10

LUCKY BABY – Was restless in the barriers before the jump last start and will look to settle off the hot speed and wait to pounce. They will go quick here, and he is in the position to be a danger.

LAST SAMURAI – He will look a winner at some point as he likes to set a cracking pace and gets the 4kg claim for K.Faiz. It's just how long he can maintain that pace.

TRIDENT – Classy type who is first up after a six-month break. He was mixing it with some horses that went on to perform well last season. He should be nice and fresh for this.

PACIFIC VICTORY – Drawn out wide which isn't ideal but will carry no weight for Iskandar and his last two runs have been very strong. Improving type.

RACE 11

PACIFIC EMPEROR – Duric takes the ride on this up and comer who has already tasted group success after he won the Merlion Trophy last year. Unbeaten in four starts on this surface.

SUPER SALUTE – The barrier draw (11) makes it very tough for him but don't write him off just yet. He is a Group 2 EW Barker Trophy winner and a very talented gelding. Will need luck.

MAJOR KING – Finished within a nose of Pacific Emperor in the Merlion Trophy and showed he can mix it with this quality of field. He will be flashing home late.

AKHTAR – Cannot fault his recent form including two wins and two minor placings. Jason Ong has found a suitable race to see how me measures up in Group quality.

RACE 12

PACIFIC COMMANDER – Will need a bit of Queiroz magic from barrier 12. Finished three lengths behind Groovy who has brought good form here.

FLYING NEMO – This little sized gelding is trying to get back into form and will continue to carry top weight here with stable electing not to claim. Nunes will settle back from barrier two and watch for him to improve.

BUURAQ SIXTY-ONE – Blinkers come off for this weeks assignment and he will look to settle in a nice spot from barrier six after scratchings.

SHOW ALL SIXTY-ONE – Last time he tasted the winner's champagne was back in June and had some nice performances since then. That next win isn't too far away.
