Both riders will be riding in Singapore for the first time, with Lloyd licensed from 22 January to 22 June while Henrique will join the Kranji riding ranks from 1 February to 31 October.

Here is a brief write-up on the two riders.

Jaden Lloyd

South African-born Australian jockey Jaden Lloyd is the son of retired champion jockey Jeff Lloyd, whose biggest win in the Lion City came atop Mr Line in the 2006 Group 1 Singapore Gold Cup for ex-Kranji trainer Pat Shaw. The 21-year-old rider's younger brother Zac was the 2022/2023 Sydney champion apprentice jockey.

Lloyd, who initially aspired to become a trainer, spent about six months at the South African Jockey Academy when he was 16, and joined the Racing Victoria Apprentice Training Program in March 2019 before he kick-started his riding career at Wangaratta, Victoria in August that year.

The Brisbane-based jockey was runner-up on the Queensland Metropolitan apprentice jockeys' premiership in the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 season before graduating to senior jockey's rank this year. Lloyd has thus far clocked in more than 200 wins in four years of riding. Although yet to land a Group 1 race, he scored his first Listed race aboard Honorable Spirit in the Queensland Cup in 2021 before he took out the Group 3 Winx Guineas on board Knight's Choice last year.

Licensed by the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission, Lloyd currently sits in 14th on eight wins on the Queensland Metropolitan jockeys' premiership. He goes to scale at 53.5kgs.

Born in Cordeiro, Rio de Janeiro, 31-year-old Carlos Henrique developed interest in horses and racing at a young age after he regularly followed his veterinarian father at his morning work routine at Gavea racecourse. He was accepted into the Apprentice School at Rio de Janeiro in 2008 and received his licence in November 2009.

Not long after the Brazilian hoop came out of his time in 2010, he moved to India to ride in four winter seasons and won two Group 1 wins at his first overseas stint, namely the 2011 Deccan Juvenile Million aboard Ashok Chakra and the 2012 Kunigal Stud Million atop Jersey Girl.

Henrique, who has a brother Fausto that rides in the US, also rode in Germany and Bahrain before moving to his current base in Qatar in 2019, where he claimed two Group 1 wins with Sealine in the 2021 Qatar Silver Trophy and Abida in the HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani Trophy.

In 14 years of riding, Henrique has chalked up over 320 wins. He now sits in 18th on seven wins on the Qatar jockeys' premiership. Henrique goes to scale at 50kgs.
