Picture: Singapore Turf Club

RACE 1

DELILAH – Was well suited in front last start, just being run down late. Now has a couple of weeks break and should be fit enough for this.

SIMON – Dragged back to the second half of the field during the run last start and made plenty of ground to finish just behind Legend Of Niagara, could repeat last starts performance.

CHINA PEARL – Won impressively last start, held up for most of the straight, got the gap and flew home at the right time. Up to class 5 and will appreciate the distance and should settle around midfield. Good chance.

SEAMLESSLY – Just won last time out on the turf and distance, had a dream run and peeled out at the right time, rises back to class 5. Race conditions should suit and could back-up again.

RACE 2

PACIFIC SNOOPY – Has an okay record in open maiden company and should be able to get close in this, draws barrier four and gets Duric which is a positive.

OCEAN JUPITER – Should see plenty of support on race day, has had two minor placings most recently on the poly track and draws barrier one.

STEADY PUNPIPI – Needs to find he's peak and has been falling short in open maiden company behind some competitive horses. Has experience on the turf and needs to jump from the stalls faster.

SACRED GOLD – A 3yo with some ability, the 1400m does look to suit and has experience on both poly and turf.

RACE 3

CAPTAIN SINGAPORE – Ran well last start, was caught wide and finished off strongly behind Super Baby. Okay barrier draw.

HUGO – Has to contend with a wide barrier and should roll forward. Was back in form with a minor placing last start, might prefer the poly track surface.

THE SHADOW – Began awkwardly last time out and put in a career best performance, should be fit enough and now goes onto the turf.

SABAH WIN – Closed off very fast last start and now goes onto the turf which is a concern. Draws well for Duric and should get a soft run.

RACE 4

BLACK STORM – He has been a consistent customer that has been moving closer to that next win since joining the Fitzsimmons stable. Nunes booked to ride and has the sharpness to win here.

ELITE JUBILATION – Lines up for his fourth career start in Singapore and has improved with each run. Brings good form into this and the in form Queiroz takes the ride.

FORTUNE WHEEL – Get back and run on style galloper who was a dominant winner two runs ago. The inform Seow will partner him again having steered him to victory the last time she rode him. Each way.

KARISTO – We haven't seen the best from him for some time, but he continues to front up trying to regain his form. He could come out here and surprise as top rater and draws well in four.

RACE 5

CROWN DANCING – Really consistent competitor, always clean away from the stalls and should be right up on speed if no dictating. Relishes the long course and distance.

TIGAROUS – Has a great turn of foot, raced wide last start, went up to 1600m and wasn't able to finish off. Now back to the turf track and 1200m which will suit and should bounce back.

BIG DAY – Honest win last start, sat behind a hot speed and just won. Has a handy record on the turf and 1400m which is ideal.

SUPER TALENT – Fallen short from the placing in the last couple of starts. Had to go back last time out and worked home well just behind the placings.

RACE 6

MR BLACK BACK – Has won over this distance in the past and is joint top rater for this event. Ran a positive fourth placing in December and looked sharp winning a trial on the 11th of January. Watch for support.

RELENTLESS – He hasn't tasted victory since his Stewards Cup win back in 2022 as four-year-old but has finished a few lengths from Singapores best and brightest. He just needs rain on race day to figure.

FAME STAR – If you wind the clock back to April 2023, he led all the way over this course and distance to win off a rating of 87. He sits four points lower and could surprise again.

HARD TOO THINK – This two-time Group 1 winner has had his share of problems and was expected to take some time to return to fitness. If he can dig up his career best form, he must be included in the exotics.

RACE 7

PACIFIC COMMANDER – He has proven he is up to this mark with two strong placings after his class five win back in December. Finished half a length behind Flying Nemo last start and gets in very well at the weights.

LUCKY BABY – Draws well for Lerner who teams up with the Tan stable. His career best performances have come at this course and distance that reads (10:1-4-1). Draws perfectly in four.

LEGEND OF THE SUN – This is his fourth run since dropping down to class four and hasn't quite measured up as some would have expected. He has won much tougher races in the past and don't dismiss him here.

CASH COVE – He is a talented type that when he is good, he is very good but can be inconsistent as his form shows. If you are looking for value, then this gelding could be the play.

RACE 8

COMMANDER – Really impressive last start in open maiden company, finished off strongly and has been constantly improving. Will sit just off speed or midfield and should be in the finish.

LIM'S EVEREST – Coming out of the same behind Commander and finished second. Always shows early speed and the distance should suit. Had a moderate trial of late.

STAR EXPRESS – Ran a good second last start off a slow speed and relished the trip. Now back to 1600m and has okay form on the long course.

KHAO MANEE – Has a solid record on the long course over this distance and won impressively last start on the poly track. Has ability.

RACE 9

CREATIVE DREAMS – Just the one career win to his name back in October. Has since risen up to perform well in this grade with a nice third behind the talented Ace Of Diamonds. Looks well placed.

AXEL – Course and distance specialist who draws the ace in this very open field. Should settle back but with the claim he will be catching the eye late yet again.

PACIFIC BAO BEI – This gelding was once touted as a Singapore Derby hope when he first arrived on the scene here at Kranji. This is his second run back from a spell and should strip fitter.

SOUSUI – Having his second run for the new stable after finishing five lengths behind Silo in a race that has proven form in the last two weeks. Can be hard to follow but the ability is there.

RACE 10

STREET OF DREAMS – Making his much-awaited return from an injury enforced layoff since May of last year. Has the benefit of three trials coming into this with his most recent looking very sharp.

PACIFIC EMPEROR – Comes here with a great record that includes six wins from ten starts. Lost no admirers finishing a credible third in the Group 3 Merlion Trophy.

GOLDEN MONKEY – Talented type who has some big feature races on his radar this year. His last win came in the Derby last year and has a better record over these shorter trips. The weight is a concern.

SKY EYE – Racing first up this weekend since August after a great season where he recorded a few class 1 victories beating some very good horses. Watch for any betting moves.

RACE 11

FILIAL DRAGON – Two close second placings look like a good form reference coming into a race like this. He will need plenty of luck from the wide barrier but the stable is in red hot form.

BIG TIGER – On the quick six day turn around after he was seen flying home late to record a slick final sectional and beaten just under two lengths to Surrey Hills. Should gather plenty of support.

OUR PINNACLE – Recently recorded a barrier trial win albeit in very slow time. Gets back to a course and distance where he has recorded plenty of good results in the past. Duric on is a big plus.

TE AKAU BEN – Has been a very frustrating horse to follow in his career but if you look at his wins, he certainly has some ability to offer. Draws well and will be aided by a claim. Value runner here.
