Trainer Justin Snaith has named the TBA Paddock Stakes and a second Klawervlei Majorca as her major targets.

“We did all the tests and her breathing looks good," Snaith said.

"Certainly there has been no deterioration so our recommendation, and that of Team Valor, is that she should continue to race.

“Everyone is very excited about this and we will go for pretty much the same races as last season.

"We will take it race by race with her and look after her. The main thing is to get confidence into her.”

The Jet Master mare was to retire after last month’s Garden Province Stakes when she was beaten half a length by Princess Victoria and mate her with Trippi at Drakenstein Stud.

However Snaith's believes Ebony Flyer can win more big races and her owners gave the go-ahead after tests were done on her wind as she has had two operations.

The tests were analysed by vets in Cape Town and Kentucky and they were unanimous that her previous problems had stabilized.

Snaith said that In addition to the Paddock and Majorca, the G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate will be a possible target.

The original thought is to restrict her to races against her own gender.

Barry Irwin of Team Valor said “I feel fairly comfortable that this is a good decision, although I for one was more anxious to start getting foals from the mare.

“We anticipate racing Ebony Flyer at five with a clear understanding that she will race at distances that won’t be too much of a challenge for her respiratory system.”
