Durban July winner and Equus Horse Of The Year Legislate has delighted trainer Justin Snaith with his work at Kenilworth as he prepares for his return to racing next weekend.

Snaith was thrilled with his gallop on November 13 with big race jockey Richard Fourie aboard.

Legislate is preparing for his return in the G2 Green Point Stakes over 1600m.

“It was fantastic to see him moving so well. The injury he picked up on July day had been a bit of a concern and that is now all past us,” Snaith said.

“He is back to his best and peaking at the right time. I couldn’t be happier with where he is at the moment.

“This horse never ceases to amaze me.”

Trainer Brett Crawford will give Champions Cup winner Futura and the recently gelded Captain America their first runs of the season in the Green Point Stakes at Kenilworth.

Captain America, second in both the Grand Parade Cape Guineas and the Investec Cape Derby, won last season’s Lanzerac Ready To Run Stakes.

Crawford again has a strong hand in Saturday’s R2 million Ready To Run Stakes with last start Kenilworth winners Alexis and Star Of Paris. His other entries include Night In Seattle and Valerin.

Joey Ramsden’s Cape Classic winner Act Of War goes for the Selangor Cup on the same day.

Ramsden, who has won two of the last three runnings of the Selangor, also expects to run Kingvoldt in the mile test.
