Redoute’s Choice filly Majmu outclassed the opposition to give her trainer Mike De Kock his third success in the G1 Cape Fillies Guineas at Kenilworth on Saturday.

When jockey Anthony Delpech pressed the button Majmu, owned by Sheik Hamdan Al Maktoum, shot to two-and-a-half-lengths win over Inara and could have been doubled the margin if ridden out to the line.

"I pulled the trigger a bit early. She will be better still when I can chase a couple home,” Delpech said.

De Kock now has some big plans for the 3YO.

"I thought she won in facile fashion. The J & B Met here at the end of next month is definitely in our thinking,” De Kock said.

“It might be her last race in South Africa. We will definitely export her because I think she is well capable of winning a Group 1 overseas."

The race was marred when second favourite Cold As Ice was a late scratching after she broke through the stalls, unseating her rider Bernard Fayd'Herbe and galloping the course riderless.

Fayd'Herbe sprained his neck in the incident.

She confirmed there is more to come with an impressive victory in the G2 Tony Taberer Southern Cross Stakes over 1000m at Kenilworth on Saturday when ridden by Fayd’Herbe.

Alboran Sea had most of the field under pressure entering the last furlong and looked set to justify strong betting support.

However Fayd'Herbe rode a supremely confident race, producing a well-judged late rush to catch the long-time leader and ease past for a half-length victory.

Fly By Night's paddock value has increased with her G1 performances including a victory in the Mercury Sprint and a narrow second to champion Via Africa in the SA Fillies Sprint.

She now looks a contender for the Sceptre Stakes and Diadem Stakes.
