The QIPCO 2000 Guineas third, Royal Scotsman, has been supplemented by connections for the first Irish Classic of the season which takes place at the Curragh on Saturday.

Connections had to fork out a €50,000 supplementary fee for the exciting three-year-old to feature amongst the twelve entries for Saturday's Irish Classic.

Fitri Hay's racing manager Alex Cole confirmed: "We have supplemented him, so fingers crossed."

"He seems in good form, so we thought we'd roll the dice again."

Regular partner Jim Crowley is elsewhere engaged with Shadwell leaving Jamie Spencer to get on board for the first time. The County Tipperary-born rider has already enjoyed success in the Irish Classic when aboard Phoenix Of Spain for Charlie Hills in 2019.

The son of Gleneagles was only a head behind 2000 Guineas winner Chaldean in the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket last season and showed he retained every inch of that ability at three on the Rowley Mile earlier this month.

British-based runners make up five of the twelve entries with the Charlie Hill's-trained Galeron, who finished fourth behind Royal Scotsman in the English equivalent, also set to head across the Irish Sea. High Royal ran a huge race to finish runner-up in the 2000 Guineas and could also feature alongside Roger Varian's Charyn and the Crisford-trained Knight, who had to be withdrawn down at the start in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains recently.

With Chaldean opting to head straight to the St James Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and fellow ante-post market leader Al Riffa missing the contest due to a "little setback" Royal Scotsman looks sure to feature towards the top of the market.

Aidan O'Brien is responsible for three entries as he seeks to record a remarkable twelfth victory in the race. Paddington, Age Of Kings, and Cairo could all take their place while son Donnacha looks likely to drop his Criterium International winner Proud And Regal back to a mile following a third-place finish in the Group 3 Derby Trial at Leopardstown on his reappearance.
