The dual Racing League top rider has enjoyed a stellar season in the saddle with seventy winners in the calendar year. Notable victories include her first British Group success onboard Ed Walker's Random Harvest in the Group 3 Valiant Stakes at Ascot in July and Metier's hard-fought victory in the valuable Chester Cup back in May.

Saffie Osborne, 21, tore ligaments in her knee towards the beginning of the month and although continuing to ride up until yesterday afternoon at Saint-Cloud, she has decided to take the remainder of the season off to recover.

In a statement on social media platform X, Osborne said: "Unfortunately, I won't be riding again in 2023 after tearing ligaments in my knee in a fall in early October,"

"2023 has been a great year with some amazing highlights. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me."

"I can't wait to be back riding in January!"
