In the 7f Class 5 Bet £10 Get £40 At BetMGM Maiden Stakes (6:00), the experience of Sir Mark Prescott's Alexandretta could prove enough to overcome the favourite Smoky Mountain from the Charlie Fellowes yard. Placed on all of her five starts to date, the daughter of Sea The Moon has struggled to get her head in front but continues to produce consistent performances over a variety of distances. Connections return to seven furlongs for the first time since Alexandretta's second at Salisbury in a novice stakes back in July, but it appears to be the correct decision with the three-year-old lacking for closing speed when beaten favourite over six furlongs at Ayr on her last start in August.

After the filly hung dramatically right at Chelmsford, first-time cheekpieces were applied at Ayr but it appeared to make no difference as the filly ducked right coming out of the stalls. Sir Mark Prescott has chosen to leave the headgear off on this occasion, and the yard form is worth noting (one winner from five runners in the last fourteen days) with Alexandretta being their sole representative at Wolverhampton.

SELECTION – ALEXANDRETTA – 7/4

Although only four line-up for the 6f Class 3 BetMGM: It's Showtime EBF Fillies' Handicap (7:00), there appears to be some value in the 3/1 available for the David Evans-trained Cuban Breeze. The five-year-old mare is an experienced all-weather performer with half of her forty outings coming on the synthetic surface, but she'd been campaigned on turf throughout July to September and appeared to relish the return to her preferred tracks at the start of October. Placed in two outings over six furlongs at Chelmsford, she returned after a near-month absence to the same course and landed a neck victory ahead of Holkham Bay.

The mare was raised to a rating of 80 for the Chelmsford victory, but she has won from this mark and higher in the past. Previously successful over course and distance, Cuban Breeze appears capable of a big performance, especially from a yard that is currently in flying form with a 22% strike rate from the last fourteen days (2-9).

SELECTION – CUBAN BREEZE – 3/1
