The 49-nine-year-old, a six time UK premiership winner, has signed on for Del Mar’s fall season that began on November 7 and cover 15 meetings through to November 30.

Fallon had never ridden at Del Mar before his five rides on the first two days of the meeting.

His best result from the first two days was a second placing before recording his first win at Sunday’s third meeting, landing Colonel Joan for trainer Eoin Harty in an allowance race.

The often controversial Fallon said riding at Del Mar – the surfside track made famous by Bing Crosby – was a unique experience.

"There's no place like it, anywhere in the world," Fallon said. "The facilities and everything here for the jockeys is first rate."

"I've always wanted to see more of California.

“Del Mar is just beautiful and hopefully I'll be riding more winners but it's not going to be easy as the best jockeys are here.

“If anything, I'll improve my riding from being here with them. I figure this is a window of opportunity and if I don't do it now, it'll be too late."

Fallon has enjoyed some notable success in America including wins in the G1 Arlington Million in 2005 aboard Powerscourt, and Breeders' Cup wins on Islington in 2003 and Ouija Board in 2004.
