That was Pegasus Day 2024

3 minute read

And a highly successful day it was with record turnover, new track records and happy racegoers, so much so that Belinda Stronach has announced a similar program for late September to be known as the California Crown.

At Gulfstream the Gr 2 Inside Information went to our pick Olivia Darling to make a nice start to the day.  She was followed in by Bluefield on 31/5 and Maryquitecontrary.

The f&m Turf was a great result for the Latinos when champion Argentinian mare Didia won from Pletcher's Surprisingly on 27/1 and Ruby Nell 4/1.

The Pegasus Turf saw the wonderful Warm Heart set a new track record in her win over two of our roughies – I'm Very Busy and Catniip so our day kept on getting better.  There's a great photo by our friend Matthea Kelly of a smiling Ryan Moore on Warm Heart covered in the winner's garlands.  Who says Ryan Moore doesn't smile!

And no surprises when National Treasure won the Pegasus World Cup Invitational from Senor Buscador 9/1 and Crupi 4/1.
