After winning Sunday's Tenno Sho (Spring) T M Opera could be going to the Melbourne Cup.

T M Opera was given a great ride by Hishida-san and despite a late charge from Blow the Horn gained the lead and managed to keep it.  Third home was Deep Bond who had been second in the race three times but unfortunately couldn't improve his position in the finish.

T M Opera was off the track for nearly a year having fractured a bone in his right hind leg but he obviously has recovered well.

Saturday's Aoba Sho went to the favourite Sugar Kun by a head from Shonan La Punta on 12.7 and Dual Wielder on 7.7.
