We’ve found some horses to follow from Morphettville Parks on Saturday.

Race 7 – Jazz Affair

Undoubtedly the eye-catcher of the day on the Parks track on Saturday was this four-year-old from the R & C Jolly camp. Taken straight back from her outside gate and given a very cold ride first up by Jake Toeroek, this daughter of Demerit had plenty to do when making the turn. Trapped away on the inside with only one runner trailing, Toeroek initially looked for a 'Moses-like' run when entering the lane but promptly changed tack when no gaps were appearing. Jazz Affair lengthened impressively when getting clear, bursting home into third and rattling off the meeting's fastest final 200m. Although finishing 2L back from the winner, Jazz Affair returned with a career best performance, posting a Racing and Sports rating of 67, five pounds better than her previous peak (maiden win). The fresh run suggests that the surface has only just been scratched with this mare and there's a fair bit left up her sleeve. A second win is just around the corner.

While on the topic of fast finishers, Winning Revolution (Race 6) also deserves mentioning, reeling off the day's fastest 800-200m and second fastest final 200m. While he does lack early tactical speed, the four-year-old possess a lethal turn of foot and will be finding the right race sooner rather than later.

Race 8 – Storyteller

Having been scratched from a handful of races in the lead up to his return on Saturday, Michael Hickmott ended up placing this son of Written Tycoon to perfection. Not given the cleanest of passages through in the lane, the four-year-old eased the fretting of favourite backers approaching the 100m, when shooting through between runners to score softly on the line. Posting a R&S rating of 82, equalling his peak, Storyteller has clearly taken great benefit from his debut prep and will be one to follow as he moves through the grades.
