Talented mare Hope In Your Heart has been all but ruled out of the autumn carnival as connections weigh up whether to continue her racing career.

A multiple stakes winner and Group 1 placegetter, Hope In Your Heart was due to barrier trial at Warwick Farm in January but was a late scratching from her heat after injuring herself in the tie-up stalls.

Trainer Kerry Parker said the setback had left her too far behind to get ready for the autumn and her owners were in the process of making a decision on the five-year-old's future.

"I took her to Warwick Farm to trial her and she kicked out and hit the wall and had to get some stitches in her hind leg," Parker said.

"That put the autumn out of action.

"Exactly what the owners do with her, that's in their court at the moment, whether they worry about a stint in Brisbane, or leave her out until the spring, or retire her as a broodmare.

"They've got a bit of thinking to do."

Hope In Your Heart has been a bonny mare for the Kembla Grange trainer, winning six of her 28 starts and more than $1.7 million in prizemoney.

While she won't be seen this autumn, Parker still has some handy carnival arsenal in stable star Think It Over, who will take his place in the Group 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday.
