Pride Stable's Set For A Successful Day At Wyong (Tuesday)

3 minute read

Joe Pride will send four of his team to Wyong on Tuesday and three of them will carry plenty of the punters' money.

Think About It ($1.80 favourite on TAB) opens the day for the Joe Pride stable in the 1350m Wyong Jockeys Premiership Winner Jason Collett Class 1 Handicap (1350m).

The son of So You Think debuted in a 1200m Kembla maiden on July 30 and he was impressive.

Pride was bullish about the four-year-old's prospects on Sky Racing two days before the race and the gelding did not let his trainer down.

He settled with a midfield trail one off the fence and he unleashed from the 300m to win running away by two lengths. Think About It will appreciate the longer trip on Tuesday.

The New Zealand-bred The Replicant ($2.60 fav) will represent Pride in the Wyong Leading Apprentice Jockey Reece Jones and Tom Sherry Class 1 Handicap (1600m).

He was too strong late in a three-horse Kembla maiden last start and he wasn't far away when placed in his previous three starts.

Sacred Field ($3.80) will have his first start for Pride in the Lauraine Buchanan Best Mum Ever Maiden Plate (1100m).

The 4yo was twice placed in four starts in 2021 before joining Pride's stable. He led all the way to easily win a recent Warwick Farm trial.

Talented 3yo Not A Single Doubt filly Pantonario ($2.10 fav) resumes in the Farewell WRC Racing & Operations Manager Dean Grogan Maiden Plate (1100m). Tim Clark rides the Waterhouse-Bott 3yo which was placed in the Gimcrack and Widden earlier this year. She won a Randwick trial recently.

RACE 1, WYONG TRAINERS PREMIERSHIP WINNER KIM WAUGH MAIDEN PLATE, 2100m: Piempurr ($1.55 fav) will be an odds-on favourite in a moderate race and she looks the winner. The mare led most of the way when run down late in a stronger race at Kembla last start. Tim Clark has the mount. Lady Goodfellow ($4.40) has been racing well at Gosford and Mr Luke ($5.50) has a place chance.
SELECTIONS: 8 PIEMPURR, 7 LADY GOODFELLOW, 3 MR LUKE

RACE 2, 2022 TRAINERS PREMIERSHIP WINNER GAI WATERHOUSE AND ADRIAN BOTT MAIDEN HANDICAP, 1350m: I Am Geronimo ($1.90 fav) is ready to win after three starts since a long spell. He was run down late on this track last start after the jockey lost his whip near the home turn. He can race keen but this is his race. Dresden ($3.10) finished alongside I Am Geronimo on this track last start and he is the main threat. Makanui ($5.50) has a place chance.
SELECTIONS: 2 I AM GERONIMO, 1 DRESEDEN, 4 MAKANUI

RACE 3, 2022 WYONG JOCKEYS' PREMIERSHIP WINNER JASON COLLETT CLASS 1 HANDICAP, 1350m: Think About It ($1.80 fav) was impressive in a runaway Kembla win on debut on July 13. He raced midfield before unleashing a strong finish to win running away by two lengths. Flying Witness ($3.10) is always thereabouts and Ilzoomya ($4.40) should be primed after two runs from a spell.
SELECTIONS: 1 THINK ABOUT IT, 2 FLYING WITNESS, 3 ILZOOMYA, 5 POETIC MISS

RACE 4, 2022 WYONG LEADING APPRENTICE JOCKEY REECE JONES AND TOM SHERRY CLASS 1 HANDICAP, 1600m: The Replicant ($2.60 fav) won a three-horse race at Kembla last start, however, he beat a subsequent winner and was running away. Believe So ($3.70) races well on this track and can lead while Brynner ($4.60) is in good form.
SELECTIONS: 1 THE REPLICANT, 2 BELIEVE SO, 3 BRYNNER

RACE 5, LAURAINE BUCHANAN BEST MUM EVER MAIDEN PLATE, 1100m: Sacred Field ($3.80) has had a change of stable since he last raced in November. Last year he started favourite in three of his four starts in which he was twice placed. He bolted in with a recent trial. Narito ($2.10 fav) is unraced and was never off the bit in a recent trial. London ($7) hasn't been far away at Gosford and on the Kensington Track.
SELECTIONS: 3 SACRED FIELD, 2 NARITO, 4 LONDON

RACE 6, FAREWELL WRC RACING & OPERATIONS MANAGER DEAN GROGAN F&M MAIDEN PLATE, 1100m: Pantonario ($2.10 fav) is a Group-placed filly resuming from a spell. Her placings were in the Gimcrack and the Widden and she was narrowly beaten by Golden Slipper winner Fireburn last prep. Miss Faberge ($3.60) is trialling well and raced in Group company last prep. Crystalane ($7) is on debut with solid trial form.
SELECTIONS: 8 PANTONARIO, 7 MISS FABERGE, 4 CRYSTALANE

RACE 7, CARLTON WYONG GOLD CUP FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 2 CONDITIONAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP, 1100m: Cool Lad ($4 fav) resumes on the back of a nice trial behind Eduardo. Earlier this year he won races at Nowra and Wagga and was runner-up at Doomben. Bowman rides the 4yo which will need luck from the wide barrier. Da Nang Star ($5) has won two trials since changing stables while Bullinachinashop ($5) comes off an easy country win and Belladeel ($6.50) is in career best form.
SELECTIONS: 3 COOL LAD, 4 DA NANG STA, 1 BELLADEEL

RACE 8, WYONG'S NEXT RACE DAY SUNDAY AUGUST 28 CLASS 1 HANDICAP, 1000m: Dijon ($4.40) has been placed in all three starts and he is the one to beat from this favourable barrier. He was run down late on this track last start and the shorter trip is ideal. Fire and Ice ($4.60) won by 4½ lengths on this track on July 19 and he has drawn nicely. Have Mercy ($6.50) was an easy winner first-up.
SELECTIONS: 1 DIJON, 3 FIRE AND ICE, 6 HAVE MERCY
