RANDWICK May 25

Best Bets

RACE 6 (4) AGITA: Developing 3YO has the potential to be good over the longer trips and this looks a suitable race for him after his recent placings over 1400m and 1800m. Last time he impressed with his late work when second against seasoned older rivals over 1800m at Hawkesbury and is well placed to improve off that effort returning to his own age group.

RACE 8 (14) RUBY FLYER: Going well since resuming and looks nicely placed to add to his good record over this distance. Did his best work late when a closing second over 1500m at Rosehill and is sure to appreciate the extra 100m with a 5.5kg drop in weight to counter rising from a BM78 to this higher class. Should get a nice run with some obvious leaders to set a strong pace.

RACE 9 (12) KUREDER: Made an impression as a good staying prospect when he won three in succession up to 2400m in Brisbane late last year. Good signs in his three starts since resuming with his strong last start third over 1800m at Hawkesbury under 59kg a sure sign he is going to find this trip on the bigger track to his liking. Getting down in the weights to 54kg gives him a nice advantage over his main rivals.

Why They Can Win….

RACE 1: (1) PISCES – Showed his true ability with strong Newcastle win. Can go on with it.

RACE 2:  (1) NAVY BLOOD – Beat them easily when resuming. Pays a penalty but nothing harder about this.

RACE 3: (3) ORIENT'S SECRET – Clever stable has him set for this off his first-up placing at Ipswich.

RACE 4: (9) FUNAMBULIST: has been working up to this distance. Sure to get the trip in an average field.

RACE 5: (11) CAPTAIN AMELIA: Fitter for his second up placing under big weight. Well placed to improve.

RACE 7: (15) WILD BOTANICA: Fast pace is ideal for her first-up. Good trial and well drawn.

RACE 10: (16) NAILS MURPHY: Import lacked match practice when resuming. Sure to come on from that with a handy drop in weight.
