Weekend Wrap: Ladie's Day at Morphettville

The ladies stole the show at Morphettville on Saturday winning all nine races, a metropolitan first in Australian racing.

The amazing day at the races again highlighted the equality of South Australian racing's riding ranks with Kayla Crowther, Rochelle Milnes and Alana Livesey all riding doubles, while it was an even more memorable day for apprentice Felicity Atkinson who landed her first city winner aboard Peacemaker.

Atkinson achieving the feat on what of her favourite horses for boss Chris Bieg.

"That was great, it's an unreal feeling,'' Atkinson said post-race

"Peacemaker is one of my favourites, and I've had a lot of success on him, so it just makes it that little bit more special,'' she said.

"Chris has been such a huge support all the way through,'' Atkinson added.

"I've been really unwell, and he's taken it easy on me just to make sure I'm right for today, and it's all paid off.

"At the top of the straight as I started to peel out, I thought "far out we're going pretty good here, I haven't completely asked the question."

"He let down really strong he's going so well,'' she said.

Maggie Collett capped a massive day for Dan Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray when Hot Off led throughout for an impressive win, the victory coming less than an hour after their star staying mare The Map secured a start in the Melbourne Cup with her Andrew Ramsden victory.

"This is just awesome,'' MacGillivray said.

"She's just a ripping horse,'' she said.

The girls continued that form at Strathalbyn on Sunday winning five of the eight races, Caitlin Munro taking riding honours with a winning double aboard Undercover Agent and Talkin' Italian for boss David Jolly.
