Quinn has earmarked a tilt at the $170,000 Albury Gold Cup in late March as a target for Falklands, who resumes at Rosehill on Saturday over 1500m.

The winner of the Port Macquarie Cup (2000m) in October, Falklands has won two recent 1000m barrier trials on his home track in preparation for his return to racing.

Quinn, who boasts one of the best strike rates of any country stable in NSW, has stablemate Sadler's Wish slated to make the trip to Sydney next Friday night for a 1900m race at Canterbury.

Sadler's Wish has won her last four starts at Port Macquarie over 2000m and 2012m and Quinn feels she is ready for metropolitan racing.

“If Sadler’s Wish keeps progressing at her present rate she could be my Port Macquarie Cup horse next October," he said.

"She has been able to win her way up the benchmark scale without getting too much weight.

“Everything I do with her this year revolves around having her ready for the Port Macquarie Cup.

“It would mean so much to me to win it again.”

Quinn has had just 45 starters this season for 13 wins and 10 placings. His team also includes the classy mare Pentasia, winner of four races this season.
