Masthead has only 52kg in the Stradbroke and wasn’t certain to gain a start until the order of entry was revised overnight.

He is now certain to make the final 18 when the field is declared on Wednesday with Munce taking over as Masthead’s rider from Glen Boss.

Boss rode Masthead at Eagle Farm last Saturday when the talented sprinter produced an excellent Stradbroke trial when second to the highly regarded Kiwi sprinter Sacred Star in the QTC Cup (1200m).

Boss couldn’t stick with Masthead due to his booking for the Stradbroke favourite Srikandi.

Waller, seeking his first win in the Stradbroke, will also start Red Tracer (Nash Rawiller) and Velrosso (Larry Cassidy).

Queensland stewards have granted Blake Shinn, suspended at Eagle Farm last Saturday, a change of suspension dates that will allow him to ride in Sydney this weekend.

Shinn sought to alter the dates of his 12-day suspension incurred at Eagle Farm last Saturday after advising the stewards he had confirmed rides on the Randwick holiday program next Monday.

The dates of his suspension have been altered to start from next Tuesday and expire on June 23.
