It worked last year for Prebble when the star Hong Kong jockey made the trip to Melbourne to win the Group One feature for Waterhouse on Wandjina.

It will be a similar hit and run visit for Prebble as he is required to return to Hong Kong on Saturday night to ride at Sha Tin on Sunday.

River Wild, a colt by Fastnet Rock raced by the Coolmore syndicate, has won three of his six starts.

He was primed for his Melbourne campaign with game back to back wins under big weights at Rosehill and Randwick before finishing eighth in the G3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) at Flemington when he was ridden by Damien Oliver.

Hong Kong’s champion jockey Joao Moreira and HK-based Frenchman Gerard Mosse are also traveling this weekend to ride at Meydan in Dubai on Saturday.

Moreira will be riding Gun Pit in the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge while Mosse sticks with HK sprinter Rich Tapestry in the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal.

Both jockeys will be back in Hong Kong to ride at Sha Tin on Sunday.
