The hype surrounding boom three-year-old Orbisyn is likely to gather further momentum when the gelding attempts to maintain his unbeaten record at Doomben on Wednesday.

Orbisyn – a Ryan Maloney mount – is unbeaten after three starts and will be chasing a fourth win in the Class 3 Handicap over 1350 metres.

At his last start, Orbisyn thrashed his opposition by more than six lengths as one of the shortest priced favourites in years in a 1200-metre Class 2 at the Sunshine Coast on May 16.

Trainer David Vandyke is in no rush with the son of Rich Enuff who has been the centre of some big overseas offers since he easily won his maiden at Doomben in March.

Owner Jan McMillan has knocked back a seven-figure offer for the gelding, whose stable nickname is the Big O after the famous musician, Roy Orbison.

McMillan bred Orbisyn after racing his mother, Another Syn, who was a four-time winner from 19 starts and a prolific broodmare before she died last year.

Vandyke rates Orbisyn as potentially the best sprinter he's trained and is content to let Orbisyn develop further rather than rush him into the bigger winter carnival races.

"There's a lot of hype about him and deservedly so," Vandyke said.

"He's a bit fragile still and gets a bit anxious so I haven't rushed him.

"I want to give him more experience and winning is one of them."

Vandyke has a big hand at Wednesday's meeting, and will also saddle up Weona Smartone in the Benchmark 78 Handicap over 1200 metres in preference to the Class 5 Handicap.

Meanwhile, Express Fantasy and Joy Too All will clash in the Class 3 for fillies and mares.

Weona Smartone has won four of his five starts and showed his versatility winning on a Heavy 10 last outing at the Gold Coast on May 12.

The four-year-old son of Shamexpress was a $160,000 buy at the Karaka sales in New Zealand in 2018 and has repaid his owners with almost half his purchase price with almost $75,000 in prizemoney.

"Weona Smartone also should be hard to beat and I expect he'll lead," Vandyke said.

"He's out further in distance which will be interesting.

"Joy Too All has been racing well and hitting the line strongly, while I'm putting a crossover noseband on Express Fantasy and dropping her back in grade as she raced ungenerously and with her mouth opened last time."
