Bearing a striking resemblance to his sire, Fleetwood looks to have his share of the family’s ability.
Godolphin isn't a regular player at the yearling sales but when they do buy one, invariably it can gallop.
Two-year-old Fleetwood, a son of former Godolphin sprinter Encryption who now stands at Queensland's Eureka Stud, was picked up for $160,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale and broke his maiden at his second start on Wednesday.
Assistant trainer Darren Beadman said the colt was regarded highly by the team, not least of all due to his uncanny physical resemblance to his sire.
"He's a bit of a chip off the old block," Beadman said.
"He looks so much like his dad Encryption and the sales team went out on a limb and bought him to support Encryption.
"He's a lovely individual, very professional."
Fleetwood started in the market when midfield to Don Corleone on debut at Randwick in January before head trainer James Cummings opted to send him for a short break.
He had just one trial in preparation for Wednesday's Proven Thoroughbreds Handicap (1100m) at Warwick Farm but the $3.50 favourite still packed too many punches, outpointing No More Lies ($4.80) with Stand Aside ($4) third.
Beadman expected the colt to take good improvement from the run and said he wouldn't be surprised to see him feature in Godolphin's spring carnival plans.
"He had to muscle his way (through) there on the home corner when the inside horse, the second horse, came out underneath him and to his credit, he really dug deep and held his ground," Beadman said.
"He's going to be in for a nice campaign and he might put his hand up over the spring carnival."
Nash Rawiller reunited with Fleetwood for the first time since partnering him in two early barrier trials and said he was a colt with a "beautiful attitude" and talent to match.
"He's certainly a strong colt and he showed plenty of tenacity today in the run home," Rawiller said.
"To be fair, the first time I trialled him I said he was a Saturday class horse so I would have been disappointed if he couldn't come here today and be very competitive.
"He was able to put himself in a lovely spot today, typical of all these young horses coming out of the barn, they're always just readymade racehorses and it's a pleasure to be riding them."
Fleetwood continues a stellar two-year-old season for Cummings who has prepared the winners of just shy of 30 juvenile races this term.
