The Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle-trained galloper possesses above average ability that comes to fore when he can sit off a hot race tempo.

That all eventuated for the first time this campaign when he was able to power past rivals and win at Murray Bridge last time out over the 1000m trip with Jake Toeroek in the saddle.

"He had some bone chips removed after his win at the end of last campaign,'' Richards said.

"He came back in really good order, he just wasn't having a lot of luck in his races.

"He needs a hot speed to produce that big finish and that just wasn't happening this time around. He kept drawing out and covering ground in unsuitably run races.

"He's drawn awkward again on Saturday but hopefully there will be good speed and he can be in the mix again,'' he said.

The stable like many will be scouring both Australia and New Zealand in search of potential new stock as the sale season swing into gear in 2024.

"Damo is heading to New Zealand, there is a couple of horses over there we've been looking at,'' Richards said.

"We'll give the Gold Coast a miss, I'll be heading to Tasmania again for the Magic Millions Sale there, I'm not sure about WA and then we'll be having a good look at what's on offer here,'' he said.
