Eight races are scheduled to be run and won under lights on a track that should have some give in it.

We've provided our top selections for each race below.

RACE 1 - 6:15PM: Maiden Plate (2520 METRES)

My Roca Fella (5) looks ready to break through for his first win following two good runs.

Two starts back the John McArdle-trained three-year-old gelding found the line strongly to finish a neck third over 2025m at this track.

Last start he looked under pressure on the turn at Wangaratta but knuckled down powerfully to fight the finish out for a nose second with a big gap back to Henry Robin in third.

There doesn't look to be a great deal of speed in the race which should see Paul Gatt cross from the outside gate and take up a forward position.

1 Unit – My Roca Fella (5)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 1

RACE 2 - 6:45PM: 3YO Maiden Plate (1600 METRES)

Dragoon (2) looks ready for a peak performance and a change of luck.

The Greg Eurell-trained son of Grunt never got clear when finishing fifth by just under a length two starts back at Caulfield over 1600m.

Last start the locally trained galloper looked the winner over 1500m here but was gunned down late to finish a head second.

He's rock hard fit and looks to gain a nice run on speed for Daniel Moor in a race with limited speed on paper.

1 Unit – Dragoon (2)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 2

RACE 3 - 7:15PM: Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

Maajida (8) is on debut for the Maher and Eustace stable.

The three-year-old filly has had seven jump outs since October so is well and truly ready to go to the races.

Her most recent two jump outs have been her best and have seen her work to the line strongly at this track.

Blinkers and a tongue tie go on suggesting intent and I'd expect Daniel Moor to go forward to negate the potentially sticky gate.

1 Unit – Maajida (8)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 3

RACE 4 - 7:45PM: 3YO Maiden Plate (1600 METRES)

Katerini (8) is on debut for Chris Waller following a nice piece of work in a Flemington jump out.

The daughter of Kermadec was strong through the line when winning the 800m hit out, suggesting 1300m first-up will suit.

Beau Mertens takes the ride and should be positive from barrier 4.

2 Units – Katerini (8)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 4

RACE 5 - 8:15PM: BM70 Handicap (1200 METRES)

Huesca (3) returns from a 33-week layoff for the Waterhouse and Bott stable.

The Not A Single Doubt gelding will appreciate the drop in class after competing in Benchmark 78 Handicaps last preparation in Sydney.

He has had two jump outs in readiness for this first-up assignment with the most recent resulting in him running strongly through the line to win at Flemington.

Campbell Rawiller can settle on speed from the inside gate and give plenty of cheek.

2 Units – Huesca (3)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 5

RACE 6 - 8:45PM: 0-64 Handicap (1500 METRES)

She's Notorious (6) was brave when finishing third over 1300m here last start.

The Clinton McDonald-trained five-year-old raced three-wide the trip yet still fought strongly to finish just 1.3 lengths from the winner.

She has a great record at her home track, winning two of four starts and placing third in the other.

The rise in distance shouldn't pose a problem given there doesn't look to be a great deal of speed in the race which should see her getting a relatively easy time on speed.

1 Unit – She's Notorious (6)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 6

RACE 7 - 9:15PM: BM64 Handicap (2025 METRES)

Tahlequah (6) has come back this preparation in good style and looks close to a win.

The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Tarzino mare ran on well first-up at Geelong before a very good effort last start.

She was never on the track over 1600m here yet still chased strongly to finish third by a head.

With increased fitness third-up, the rise to 2025m here should suit particularly given she should enjoy an economical run from barrier 3.

1 Unit – Tahlequah (6)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 7

RACE 8 - 9:45PM: 0-64 Handicap (1300 METRES)

Dakarai (5) impressed in his return to Wendy Kelly's stable after spending a preparation with Chris Waller.

The four-year-old gelding went straight to the front first-up before dashing clear in the straight to win the 1200m contest at Mornington by 4.3 lengths.

He'll strip fitter second-up and can rise to the challenge out of maiden class.

Jordan Childs, who was aboard last start, can make full use of the inside gate and settle in a prominent position.

1 Unit – Dakarai (5)

BET NOW: Cranbourne Race 8
