Trainer John Thompson is confident Hellbent On You ($4.80 on TAB) will be a 'different horse' when the lightly-raced filly headlines his Kembla Grange attack on Saturday.
The daughter of Hellbent is second-up from a spell in the Dragons Merchandise Photo Finish Maiden (1200m) and has so far only placed once in four starts.
John Thompson still believes the filly has good ability but didn't get the chance to show it first-up for a break after racing closer than she appreciated last start at Canterbury Park.
The stable will employ different tactics this time around as she prepares to drop in grade in pursuit of a maiden race win.
"She will improve out of sight with the drop in grade," Thompson said.
"We tried to ride her closer the other day and it just didn't suit her.
"She just needs to go back to being ridden quieter and you should see a different horse this Saturday."
Keagan Latham will link up with Hellbent On You while the jockey will also pilot Kingston Charm ($12) in the following event for the stable.
Kingston Charm is resuming from a spell in the Pacific Plan Management Benchmark 64 Handicap (1200m) with one trial under her belt and is expected to run a cheeky race first-up.
"She trialled well and is going well," Thompson said. "Last time in, she ran third first-up at Canterbury when fresh.
"She is a stayer but she could surprise first-up from a good draw."
Stablemate Double Scoop ($12) will get the chance to put her second victory on the board in the Tolleno Crane Hire Midway Class 1 (1400m).
A four-year-old mare, Double Scoop is ready to produce an improved showing after failing to beat a runner home last start over 1300m at Wyong.
Thompson has tinkered with the daughter of Press Statement's gear in a bid to get the best out of the mare.
"She was ordinary the other day. She has the blinkers going on and the tongue tie this time," Thompson said.
"They seemed to think she got her tongue over the bit the other day and choked herself down so tongue tie should fix that problem. The blinkers, it was time to throw them and see some improvement out of her."
Double Scoop will be ridden by Jean Van Overmeire from a testing draw in barrier 13.
