Winning Trainer: Brad Widdup
"Very tough. I thought they were going to be too quick but he likes to roll - probably not that quick - but full credit to the staff at home. He's not an easy horse but to get the win they've done a great job.
"He'll improve, loves racing."
Winning Jockey: Tom Sherry
"He's not the easiest horse but he had a good today and that is probably the best he's left the barrier. He's sort of the more you leave him alone and leave him to his own devices the more he responds.
"He gave a good kick up the straight and I was hoping he'd have got third but he was tough and too strong.
"I thought Coal Crusher would have led but the way he jumped he was right there on the bridle and I didn't want to disappoint him. He did everything right, was well behaved and hopefully he's in for a good prep."
Beaten Jockeys:
Nash Rawiller (Cepheus): "I just don't think he enjoyed that ground at all."
Tyler Schiller (Coal Crusher): "I thought he was brave. Had to carry a big weight today. Leader was just too tough."
Tom Marquand (Golden Mile): "Tracked in really well on the back of the leading bunch. Probably just found the ground a bit loose."
James McDonald (Kovalica): "Good run from the back."
Tommy Berry (Democracy Manifest): "Very nice run. The speed had him out of his comfort zone most of the way. 15/1600 he will be right on target."
Jason Collett (New Energy): "Lovely run. A bit strong through the middle with a bit of a flat spot. Once balanced picked up well through the line."
Chad Schofield (Caesars Palace): "He ran nicely up until a point and then his condition gave out being first up. I think he has come back really well."
Reece Jones (Dark Dream): "Got into a nice little rhythm there first up obviously short of his best. He ran through the line strongly."
Ashley Morgan (Hard To Say): "He ran terrific. I thought at the top of the straight we were a chance. I thought we'd gone quick."
Jay Ford (Whinchat): "He doesn't always gets things right. Today up in grade he played up in the gates again. Jumped steady then over raced. That can happen with him."
