This Monday our attention shifts to Morphettville as the South Australian city is set to host their feature Adelaide Cup meeting.

The Group Two event run over the two mile journey will see 17 runners vie for the $350k on offer.

Won by some greats of the turf, including Melbourne Cup winners, Rain Lover, Hyperno, Just A Dash and Subzero, the race certainly carries a rich history.

We've had a close look at all nine races on the program and our thoughts can be found below.

RACE 1 - 12:00PM: CROSER HANDICAP 0-64 (2000 METRES)

Bogues comes here straight off a maiden win but he looks to have plenty of upside.

A son of Justify, the colt has only had the three race starts and didn't have the best of luck when resuming over the mile.

Fitter for that outing, he then headed to Bendigo where he proved far too good, extending nicely over the final part to score by three lengths.

The way to worked through the line suggests he'll be suited out to this trip and Jamie Kah goes onboard for Kyneton trainer Liam Howley.

BET NOW: Morpettville Race 1

RACE 2 - 12:35PM: BONE DRY WINES HANDICAP CLASS 2 (1100 METRES)

Miss Subtly didn't have the best of runs when resuming for the new stable back in January but bounced back with a solid effort to score at Gawler last start.

After settling outside the leader the daughter of Rich Enuff hit the front at the top of the straight and kept finding to hold out the challengers.

A very consistent mare, she's built herself a tidy record and the form around her is solid.

She looks well placed here at Class Two level and Kayla Crowther stays in the saddle for Phillip Stokes.

1 unit – MISS SUBTLY

BET NOW: Morpettville Race 2

RACE 3 - 1:10PM: DOMINANT HANDICAP 1MW (1050 METRES)

Boognish resumes.

A dominant winner on debut just under a year ago, the lightly raced mare has continued to perform well and looks to have plenty of upside.

Already a stakes placegetter having finished third on the Listed Lightning Stakes she should find this easier than what she'd been contesting last campaign.

She comes here off a very encouraging jump out win and gets in nicely at the weights.

Jamie Kah partnered her to her most recent outing and she will again do the steering.

1 unit – BOOGNISH

BET NOW: Morpettville Race 3

RACE 4 - 1:45PM: SKYCITY HANDICAP BM66 (1600 METRES)

Ghetto Superstar has bit a bit plain in two runs back from a break but he drops in grade and gets out to the mile, which will suit.

The your year old son of Street Boss generally takes a couple of runs to comes to hand so he looks very well placed here at his third start back.

The Geelong trained galloper has won at his only appearance here, Jake Toeroke was in the saddle on that occasion and he'll again partner him.

He's drawn to get the right run and will find this easier than what he's been contesting.

1 unit – GHETTO SUPERSTAR

BET NOW: Morphettville Race 4

RACE 5 - 2:20PM: THE FOTOBASE GROUP MORPHETTVILLE GUINEAS 3YO LISTED (1600 METRES)

Air Assault resumed with a very tidy effort in the Listed City of Marion Stakes a fortnight ago.

Settling outside the leaders, the son of Justify was always wide and exposed but stuck on gamely to hold fourth.

He's proven himself a quality three year old, having won the Group Three SA Sires Produce Stakes here on the Parks track in the Spring before finishing third in the Group Two Moonee Valley Vase.

Sent for a break after failing to see out the trip in the Victoria Derby he looks to have come back in top order.

With that run under his belt the rise to the mile looks ideal and he gets comes back to his own age group.

Jason Holder knows him well and he goes back aboard for Andrew Gluyas.

1 unit – AIR ASSAULT

BET NOW: Morpettville Race 5

RACE 6 - 3:00PM: QUAYCLEAN C S HAYES MEMORIAL CUP LISTED (1600 METRES)

Meridus performed very well in two Queensland runs before being given a five week freshen up.

The Extreme Choice gelding then stepped out over 1400m at Flemington but just felt the pinch late, which he was entitled to do.

He strips fitter for that recent run and I think he'll be well suited here out to the mile.

He's only had the one start over the trip and that was in the Caulfield Guineas, where he charged home from the tail to finish less than two lengths from Aft Cabin.

After lumping the 60kg impost last start, he'll appreciate the drop to 54.5kgs and Jamie Kah sticks with him.

1 unit – MERIDUS

BET NOW: Morpettville Race 6

RACE 7 - 3:45PM: TAB ADELAIDE CUP GROUP ONE (3200 METRES)

Amade is the class runner in this year's addition of the Adelaide Cup as reflected in the weight scale.

After beginning his career in France, where he recorded eight of his ten victories, the Irish bred gelding has returned to top form over the past few months.

A winner of last year's Geelong Cup, he's continued to perform well and comes here off a brilliant last start performance in the Torney Cup.

After blowing the start he tacked onto the back of the field and taking all the short cuts, he charged home late into third.

The way he found the line suggests he's primed for the 3200m trip and Phillip Stokes has since given him an 800m jump out to keep him up to the mark.

From six starts over the two mile journey, he's recorded three wins and two placings and he's used to carrying big weights so I don't think the 58kgs will prove a hinderance.

Zac Spain has formed a good association with the gelding and he'll again do the steering.

1 unit – AMADE

BET NOW: Morphettville Race 7

RACE 8 - 4:25PM: THOMAS FARMS MANHINI CLASSIC LISTED (1100 METRES)

Aitch Two Oh kicked off her preparation in fine style, scoring an impressive 1.5 length victory in the Listed Durbridge Stakes.

After taking up the lead she was headed in the middle stages but found plenty in the straight to kick clear and score comfortably.

A daughter of Headwater, the four year old has proven herself a very handy mare, having won five from twelve with three of those wins coming at stakes level.

With six weeks since that outing, she comes here nice and fresh and does race particularly well with her runs spaced.

She has a terrific record here at her home track and is set to receive all the favours form the inside draw under Jake Toeroke, who retains the mount for Richard and Chantelle Jolly.

1 unit – AITCH TWO OH

BET NOW: Morphettville Race 8

RACE 9 - 5:05PM: GRAND SYNDICATES HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Prairie Flower makes the trip across from Ballarat and she looks to have found a winnable race.

The Star Turn mare hasn't been far away in recent runs and she'll enjoy getting back to Morphettville, as she holds a very good record here.

It has been a while between drinks but she's continued to race well and the form around her is solid.

She does have to carry the big weight but she worked home strongly last start under 62kgs so I don't think it'll stop her here.

Johnny Allen goes onboard and with any luck from the draw, she should prove hard to beat.

1 unit – PRAIRIE FLOWER
