Shane and Cassie Oxlade have the Group 1 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley on March 23 in their sights and a prospective clash with the likes of Imperatriz and I Wish I Win.

"He jumped out this morning and was good,'' Shane Oxlade said.

"He did what he needed to do, it's funny Lauren (Stojakovic) said he felt like he was going half pace but he was solid in his gallop and is right for the William Reid,'' he said.

Oxlade said Queman had come through his Group 1 victory in fine order and would have one more Melbourne run before he aims up at the Adelaide Racing Carnival alongside stablemate Sghirripa.

"Sghirripa's home and having a couple of weeks off before we look at the Irwin into the Goodwood,'' Oxlade said.

"Both horses could end up going that way.

"Sghirripa will have two, two and half weeks in the paddock, the other bloke can have a short rest after the William Reid but the Irwin looks the right race for them heading towards the Goodwood,'' he said.

Oxlade also entered Queman in the Oakbank trials on Friday morning as a back-up where there is some quality horses ramping up carnival preparations.

Among the trial nominations are Balaklava Cup winner Ironclad and the Michael Hickmott-trained Taunting who won last year's Listed Railway Stakes at the famous Adelaide Hills Circuit and hasn't raced since winning at Cranbourne and Ballarat last year.

Listed winner My Khalifa will also trial along with the talented Chicago Storm, Press Down and the Travis Doudle-trained Pegasi who is being aimed towards this year's Railway at Oakbank on Easter Saturday.
