ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 6 # 2 – Riff Rocket
Keen on him, and he brings a very strong profile for this assignment. He was impressive first-up, winning the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes (1400m) with the top weight, and his late strength was backed up by the clock running some of the meeting's fastest closing splits. Second-up, he started a rock solid $2.50 favourite in a high-pressure Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m), and although having slight excuses, he ran an honest third. The Chris Waller-trained galloper can bounce back into the winner's stall with a more suitable race setup. The rise to 2000m third-up is ideal and he runs to a consistent figure that wins this race. In addition, he has a fantastic record, returns to his home track and expect a positive ride from Nash Rawiller.
ROSEHILL GARDENS – BEST BET: Race 10 # 11 – Tashi
Like her, and she's gone to a new level this campaign. She had every chance when winning last start, but she ran very slick time, and that race rated extremely well relative to the day, and there has been a subsequent winner to confirm the form. The Snowden runner is a mare in form on an upwards ratings spiral, and she gets in with no weight, which will enhance her key asset of acceleration. She maps to have all favours and is over the odds.
ROSEHILL GARDENS – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 8 # 1 – Storm Boy
The high-profile two-year-old colt deserves to be a dominant favourite for this year's Golden Slipper, and his ratings/sectional profile supports that. The Waterhouse & Bott galloper smashed the clock two starts back in the 2YO Magic Millions (1200m) and continued his authority when winning the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) with ease, SPing $1.04 on the tote. Further, although having all favours, he moved well late, and Punter's Intelligence recorded he ran one of the fastest final 200m splits of the meeting in 11.52. He has key attributes, handles all race shapes/conditions, and draws well for champion jockey Ryan Moore.
KEMBLA GRANGE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 5 # 1 – The New Sinatra
He's ready to break through for his maiden and peak third-up. The gelding was checked/blocked last start at Newcastle at critical stages, forced back into the inferior ground, and tried hard in defeat, finishing second. Further, he beat the rest easily, and that race rated well. He can roll forward from the awkward draw, is at optimal fitness, and brings the best last-start figure into this event. Likeable profile.
