BEST BET
KIKUSUI
Race 1, No. 8

Placed twice last time in work, including here on a heavy track back in July. Has trialled up nicely, no weight and should give this a big shake.

EACH-WAY
BOLD BURDON
Race 6, No. 1

First-up from a spell here and won the Koroit Cup at Warrnambool in January when a $1.85 favourite. Had some solid Melbourne form prior, draws a middle gate and his best would take some beating.

Mount Gambier Gold Cup (2050 METRES)

Clever Man is chasing his third win in succession in this race and hasn't had a lot go right this time around including last time when everything went wrong when he was box seating before he got dragged back to last before working home well when the race was all over behind FARROQ at Naracoorte. He has a great record here and should take beating. Thrill Kill has been placed at the Kangaroo Island and Port Lincoln Cups at his past couple, he'll run well.  Ferago was placed in the Group 3 Herbert Power in the Spring, this is probably short of his best distance but he's going to be in the mix. Khoekhoe is another Victorian who ran 5th in an ATC Derby, he was well beaten first-up from a spell but looks an improver. Shiny Rock has won six of his past eight starts including the Lock and Broken Hill Cups at his past two starts. Red Patrol hasn't finished out of the top two in five runs here winning three. Symon Wilde has Tolemac and Fabalot who are both good very good jumpers resuming and can run well fresh.
SELECTIONS: 2 CLEVER MAN, 7 Thrill Kill, 5 Khoekhoe, 3 Ferago
PLAY: Backing CLEVER MAN.
