Parnham plots two state success

3 minute read

Neville Parnham has his bases loaded across two states and if the cards fall his way he can celebrate feature wins in Perth and Melbourne.

Gun three-year-old Zipaway highlights Parnham's interstate assault when he tackles the Alister Clark Stakes (2040m) at Moonee Valley.

Zipaway runs his final race in Melbourne before coming back home to potentially target next month's Group 2 WA Derby (2400m) at Ascot.

Zipway is third up in Melbourne after he ran an encouraging third to Snow Patrol in the Group 2 Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

He then found the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) a hot affair finishing well back in 12th place, but wasn't aided when he commenced slowly.

"He galloped at Moonee Valley on Tuesday and to the eye it was impressive," Neville Parnham said on Tabradio.

"The horse is fine and he's finally drawn a gate.

"He gets his chance to bounce back and show he's true form."

With Steven Parnham electing to fulfill a good book of mounts at Ascot, Declan Bates is the replacement rider for Zipaway.

Bates steers Zipaway from gate one.

At Ascot, Parnham has 13 runners engaged with strong representation in three of the feature races on the programme.

Talented juvenile Onemoretwomany and stable mate Myzoom tackle the Listed Supremacy Stakes (1000m).

Snowdome and Ghost Who Walks go around in the Rock Magic Stakes (1000m).

Multinational will look to win the Listed Grandstand Cup (1500m).

Parnham says Snowdome will be a much better horse second-up after the inaugural Bluff Knoll (1099m) at Albany.

A dual Group 3 winner, Snowdome had no impact in the race and placed a distant seventh to Gemma's Son.

"I think you will see a better version of Snowdome," Parnham said.

"In hindsight he probably wasn't ready for such a frantic speed.

"If his work on Tuesday is any indication he'll be right in the finish.

"He's very sound and at the moment 110 per cent.

"Looking at his work on Tuesday we're going to see the real Snowdome and hopefully he's good enough at the end of it."

Snowdome has two wins and two placings from five second up attempts.

He's drawn to start from barrier two and will be ridden by Brad Parnham.

Tab touch rates him at $8, Ghost Who Walks is $15 and has gate seven for Laqdar Ramoly.

Onemoretwomany showed above average ability when winning the first two races of his career in smart fashion last November.

A horse didn't go past him when he won leading including taking the scalp of Big Shots in the Crystal Slipper Stakes (1100m).

On his return in the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic (1200m) he weakened to fifth, beaten two lengths, after staking the leader.

Adopting a gear change with blinkers going on, Parnham says Onemoretwomany will be a focused horse in the Supremacy Stakes.

"We took him back to the trials a couple of weeks back with the blinkers on and he went really good," Parnham said.

"I worked him on Tuesday morning with them on and it certainly made him focus a lot more.

"Hopefully it will be enough that it makes him really competitive in a good race.

"He's definitely a better animal than what he was before the Magic Millions."

Onemoretwomany drew perfectly in barrier one. Laqdar Ramoly retains the ride

The Tassort gelding is currently at $5. Sir Dreamalot the $3 favourite.

Myzoom is a $41 outsider.

Parnham says Multinational was just average in the Bunbury Stakes (1400m) and will have to improve in the Grandstand Cup.

The Hall Of Fame trainer is quite bullish about the hopes of Yarralea and Yallingup Girl in race one.
