"He looks like a moose and he's named after a deer, so he's appropriately named! He's got a big head and he needed it today."

On his injury: "It didn't look like he was going to race again, but he's come back and the soft tracks help him because he likes a bit of give in the ground. He's a fit and happy horse at the minute, we don't do much with him during the week but he always has a red hot crack on raceday. He's always been fit, and the win should give him plenty of confidence. He's pretty sound and Nikita has got him worked out."

While between drinks: "It's taken him a long time to get back into the winner's circle, but he's just such a tough horse. He wants to win. We had a beautiful run and I decided to present him a little early, because he doesn't have a big turn of foot. He really dug deep for me at the end."
