ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST BET: Race 9 # 10 – GAN TEORAINN

Like her third-up and everything about her ratings/sectional profile suggests she is set to peak. The mare was 32 days between runs last start at Gosford when SPing hard in the market, but nothing went right for her. Further, she wasn't suited to the tight-turning track and was checked/blocked at key stages in the straight, but to her credit, she still closed off solidly. The Chris Waller-trained runner finds a much more positive setup here, back to a bigger track from a soft draw, and the blinkers go back on. In addition, she has multiple winning ratings, and with even luck, expect her to be in the finish back onto a drier surface.

ROYAL RANDWICK – BEST VALUE: Race 5 # 1 – HEALING OASIS

She resumes after a 123-day spell and has had the two trials leading into this assignment, which gives her a solid platform. Her latest trial indicated that she is ready to race well fresh after winning a heat at Warwick Farm. The five-year-old has a solid first-up record, and her career peak figure came at this track/distance, albeit on a heavy surface. She maps to have all the favours, the claim suits, and she's over the odds.

ROYAL RANDWICK – SECTIONAL STAR: Race 3 # 7 – GREEN SHADOWS

He's come back well this prep and was a strong winner first-up at Warwick Farm 26 days ago. He had to overcome the race shape but accelerated hard and showed late strength to run over the top of his rivals. The clock backed up the visuals, with Punter's Intelligence recording that he ran one of the fastest final 200m splits of the meeting in 11.31. He's come in on a solid base figure, returns to his home track, and the extra ground suits.

KEMBLA GRANGE – PROVINCIAL PICK: Race 6 # 8 – PIPPIE BEACH

Her debut run at Newcastle a fortnight ago was full of merit, and expecting her to step off that effort. The filly wasn't suited to the sit/sprint race shape and got into an awkward spot before the turn, halting her momentum, but once clear, she hit the line hard. Further, her last few bounds were strong, and she clocked some of the meeting's fastest closing splits. She will improve from the race experience, and the extra distance is ideal.
