The rail will be out 8m for the entire circuit and the track is currently rated a soft 5.

We've had a close look at all eight events on the program and our thoughts can be found below.

RACE 1 - 12:25PM: AJM CONTRACTING MAIDEN PLATE SW (1100 METRES)

Hollywood High will make her raceday debut.

A daughter of Nicconi, the filly has impressed in recent jump outs and trials and this looks an ideal assignment for her to kick off her career.

A free running type, she looks to do everything right and when asked for an effort in her most recent heat, she really lengthened out nicely.

Harry Coffey will do the steering for team McEvoy and barrier five should see her afforded every chance.

RACE 2 - 1:00PM: PIPE PRO DIRECTIONAL DRILLING 3YO MAIDEN PLATE SW (1400 METRES)

There was a lot to like about the debut performance of Rapido Expresso.

Hampered shortly after the start, he settled back at the tail over the 1400m at Pakenham and worked home nicely after making his run around them.

He just looked to peak on his run late, which he was entitled to do and he will have taken plenty of improvement from the run.

He looks well placed staying at the 1400m journey and has drawn nicely in gate four.

RACE 3 - 1:35PM: WHITFORD LIQUID WASTED 4YO+ MAIDEN PLATE SW (1400 METRES)

Maravich resumed off a long break with an encouraging effort over 1200m at Mornington.

After travelling nicely throughout, he finished off well, taking ground off the leaders late and the rise to 1400m here will suit.

Placed in four of his five starts, the Lope De Vega gelding hasn't always had the best of luck but has shown that he's certainly capable.

Luke Currie retains the mount for Anthony and Sam Freedman and with any luck from the wide draw, she should be right in this.

RACE 4 - 2:10PM: PETER TOBIN FUNERALS MAIDEN PLATE SW (1600 METRES)

Sacredarro was unlucky not to have won on debut when stepping out over the mile on the Hillside last month.

The colt just wanted to race a touch keen in the early part and was held up for a long way before charging late to be denied by the barest of margins.

With good natural improvement and the benefit of race experience, he looks very hard to beat here.

Mickaelle Michel takes the reins for the Robbie Griffiths and Mathew de Kock and he's drawn to receive all the favours from gate three.

RACE 5 - 2:45PM: PORTER PLANT BM64 HANDICAP (2000 METRES)

Engeline comes off a well deserved maiden victory.

The Nick Ryan trained mare had been racing well and relished the rise to 2000m.

After kicking off her career in Ireland, where she just had the one run, she's been finishing off strongly but has a tendency to over race, which has been her undoing.

Last start from the outside gate, she was taken back to last and despite having to loop the field, she showed a good kick in the straight to win comfortably.

She's deep into her preparation and looks to be putting it all together.

Jordan Childs goes onboard for the first time and with a genuine tempo, she'll be storming home late.

RACE 6 - 3:20PM: HYGAIN WINNERS CHOICE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

Lovazou returns to the races.

Only lightly raced, the daughter of Zoustar has shown plenty of natural ability in her five starts, three of which have been at stakes level.

She picked up a Group Three placing on debut, finishing strongly to claim second in the Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Flemington and she won well when resuming last campaign, putting up a 2.25length margin in soft conditions at Geelong.

She was sent to the paddock after a tough run in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes where she was always wide and over raced but looks to have returned in good order following some very pleasing jump out performances.

RACE 7 - 3:55PM: SET A DEPOSIT LIMIT 0-64 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

Rackemann hasn't been far away in three runs back from a break and looks ideally placed to get the job done.

The son of Impending was strong to the line two runs back on the Hillside, just going down narrowly in a three way go.

Last start he was again strong to the line just, bumping into the smart Truffle Finder but the pair kicked clear to put up a big gap back to the rest.

He's put together a tidy record and presents here at peak fitness.

Daniel Stackhouse stays in the saddle for team Hayes and if he can overcome the sticky draw, he'll be right there at the finish.

1 unit – RACKEMANN

  BET NOW: Ballarat Race 7

RACE 8 - 4:30PM: HYGAIN WINNERS CHOICE 0-64 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

Pharari comes off an emphatic maiden win under lights at Cranbourne.

Resuming off a good break, the American Pharoah filly was slightly slow away off the inside draw but railed through and could not have been more impressive over the final stages as she kicked away to score by eight lengths.

Prepared by Ciaron Maher, she showed plenty of natural talent in two jump outs prior her debut and was only beaten by a narrow margin in her first two raceday appearances.

She's returned in top order and with any luck in running, should prove hard to beat.

1 unit – PHARARI
