Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Taree, Mornington and Mackay.
TAREE: RACE 7 @ 3:10 PM
OLIVIA'S SPIRIT (3) holding his form well and made considerable ground late when a strong third over 1280m at Muswellbrook on May 13. Ben Looker sticks and looks one of the top chances. REGGIE'S BOY (1) racing in a rich vein of form and gets in light again with the claim. Stalked the speed in the heavy conditions when a head winner over 1280m at Muswellbrook on May 13. Will take holding out. LA BOQUERIA (8) progressing well this preparation and deserves her chance here. Scored a gritty long neck win with the 58kg over 1100m at Ipswich on May 11. Handles the conditions and not without each-way prospects. OAKFIELD BADGER (5) consistent four-year-old gelding who was never in contention when finishing tenth over 1200m at Newcastle last start. In a suitable race and is a solid top-three hope.

MORNINGTON: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM
BALINOR (2) chased hard but lacked the turn of foot required when fourth last start over 2000m at Ballarat. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and needs this trip - he has a win and a placing from three tries at the mile-and-a-half. Beautifully placed in a Bm58 so he is the one to beat despite the 61kgs. BOLD JAKKAL (8) warmed up late to finish fifth when second-up from a spell last time out over 2225m at Werribee. Hits his straps at this stage of the prep so expect progress from that latest effort. KEEVS (6) improved sharply last start at the second run back from a break, leading and just failing to hang on over this distance at Moe. Big chance to go one better with that extra run under his belt. MODERNISSIMO (1) gave away a huge start before rallying late in the same race as Keevs at Moe recently. Sure to be about the money again. LAST RAIDER (3) is a model of consistency and looks a solid each-way option.

MACKAY: RACE 1 @ 12:30 PM
PROSPETTIVA (6) was well supported last start over 1830m at Home Hill but only battled in the run home finishing fifth of 11. Jumps from a handy draw and over a longer trip can atone. FLAMENCO ROSE (5) did well to score as the favourite last start when after making a poor beginning came from last at the turn to score over 1800m at this track. Races well here having won twice and placed twice from four starts. Jumping from an inside gate with a 2kg claimer in the saddle can go back-to-back. PHOENIX FLYER (2) looks close to another win having finished third in both of his last two starts, including last time out at this track over 1800m. Worth noting that the second placed runner in that last race has since come out and won. Has winning claims. MISHANI PATRIOT (9) battled on okay last start when finishing third of five over 1400m at Charters Towers. Drops 3.5kg in weight and can place.
SELECTIONS: Prospettiva to win.
