Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Canterbury, Gosford, Moonee Valley, Moe, Doomben, Port Lincoln, Esperance, Devonport, Canberra and Darwin.

CANTERBURY: RACE 5 @ 8:00 PM

AFTERLIGHT (2) is a smart mare starting to hit her straps. Scratched from a tougher race last Saturday to be saved for this. Taken to the front and proved too slick when winning over the 1200m at Warwick Farm on November 23. Expected to go close again from the good gate. TSARINA SOPHIA (4) comes out of a solid race when resumed for a fast-finishing second over 1100m at this track on November 24. Looks to have come back much stronger and maps well. QUEEN OF THE MILE (3) is holding form well in this grade and this is her pet trip. Much better run when a close-up fourth over 1200m at this track three weeks ago. Claim helps again and has genuine top-three prospects. SILENT RAINDROPS (8) going nicely through her grades and deserves a shot here. Strong late when second lover 1200m at Warwick Farm on November 22. Don't underestimate.
SELECTIONS: Afterlight to win.

GOSFORD: RACE 2 @ 1:35 PM

Consistent mare STORM'S END (7) returned from a four-month spell with a fast-finishing third over this course and distance last start. Might settle a bit closer from a better draw today. Sure to prove tough to hold out. TAKANAKUY (5) has come back in good order this prep. Won first-up at Narromine then just failed in a Bm50 over 1000m at Tamworth at her last run a month ago. Up a little in grade but Bullock takes the ride which is a positive lead. NOCI DI COCCO (4) is back from a three-month break. Progressed well last time in work, culminating in a maiden win at Tuncurry before being turned out. In the mix. ELENI (6) next best.
SELECTIONS: Storm's End gets the nod.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 7 @ 9:15 PM

HISSY FIT (9) rates highly in this. She only had two runs last campaign and ran second in both but they were both in BM70's and this looks a touch easier. She was beaten a nose first up last time in and both runs here have netted second placings. Lightly raced, she should go close. MOON AND BACK (4) resumed with an encouraging run at this track and distance in a slightly stronger race. She'll be hard to hold out with that run under the belt. RAGING MONKEY (11) was better at Tatura last time and can figure while INNOCENT ENUFF (10) won an easier race at Mornington first up and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Hissy Fit.

MOE: RACE 2 @ 1:45 PM

DUMMY SPIT (1) is a consistent conveyance who has hit the top five in all three starts to date and strikes a very winnable contest here. Will find this easier than the recent effort in town and gets the services of Stackhouse in the irons. Should be right there at the business end. MIDNIGHT DEVIL (16) is unlucky to still be a maiden finishing runner-up in both runs this time in for the new stable. Gets in well at the weights with the claim and looks a serious threat. GYMKHANA (3) just missed the placings on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Can return in good order. MIKKIS MOON (6) is a bit hit or miss but may play a role if he brings his A-game. IRRESISTIBLE SIR (4) next in line from the inside alley.
SELECTIONS: Dummy Spit to win.

DOOMBEN: RACE 3 @ 3:14 PM

BIG DEMEANOR (1) gave a good sight first up when he led and stuck on over 1200m at Ipswich, beaten less than a length into fourth. Has switched to the Gollan yard since and has trialled well. Maloney goes on and he draws to get the favours. Stablemate RISE ANGELOU (15) hasn't raced since finishing 0.8L away at Ipswich over 1200m five weeks ago but was kept ticking over with a recent trial at Doomben. Blinkers go on. One of the contenders. MISS MIRIAM (10) found the line well to grab third on debut over 1000m at Sunshine Coast. Improver with a solid chance. WINNING EDITION (14) debuts for the Heathcote barn off a close second in a Doomben trial. Draws well so can measure up.
SELECTIONS: Big Demeanor to win stepping out for Gollan.

PORT LINCOLN: RACE 1 @ 2:40 PM

TANE TOA (4) showed good early toe here last start, only to be swamped late and finish fourth. Has been good in his two runs back and should be nearing his peak now. Leading player. NOORTOOMANY (9) wasn't far away here last start when coming within a length of the winner. Ready to go one better. WYES TRIER (6) resumes. Showed some positive signs in his debut prep but just struggled to put a full race together. Expected to have improved during the break. In the mix. TONIGHTS THE NIGHT (10) best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Backing Tane Toa to win.

ESPERANCE: RACE 4 @ 4:05 PM

BOOZEROO (2) won first up here over this distance as a $3 favourite. Brought strong form from Kalgoorlie and has more to give. Will race forward and can deliver again. LUCKY FOO FOO (8) found the grade a bit tough at Kalgoorlie 34 days ago but the form there prior reads well. Will push forward from the awkward barrier and can get back on track. BLAZING PASSION (3) resumed here in good order missing a lip in this grade. Was bet into a short quote and fitter will go close if the sticky gate is managed. BELLE'S FANTASY (5) will be better for the first-up placing in easier grade. Draws low and will be fitter. Has city figures that would see her very competitive.
SELECTIONS: Sticking with Boozeroo.

DEVONPORT SYNTHETIC: RACE 5 @ 5:00 PM

RED SPHERE (5) was sensational winning on debut here back in May, and while he hasn't gone on with it in two runs back this campaign, he has acquitted himself well. Very useful claim with Byrne Burke getting 2kg on this program, but there does look to be good heat in this race up front. Glenn Stevenson saddles two here, with TURK BOY (3) resuming after two trial wins and PHILOSOPHERS STONE (1) having his first start for the stable. Turk Boy won his maiden first-up on this corresponding program last year. MUISCA (7) has had a freshen and maybe one that has the drop in a race with high pressure up front. The obvious speed creates a problem for ELMAJAY (9), a noted leader who will need to cross most of the field if she's to find the top here.
SELECTIONS: Red Sphere to win.

CANBERRA: RACE 1 @ 2:32 PM

ZAZEL (9) switched to the Dryden yard and placed here third-up behind a promising Sydney galloper. Races forward and won't have to improve much to take this out. MISS STALWART (4) resumed with a near-miss at the Sapphire Coast and has more up the sleeve. Krogh sticks aboard and will give her every chance. The threat. SINGLE BEAT (8) is fourth up and should be ready to show more. In an astute local barn and is on a 7-day return. Nisbet will position her forward. JUKE BOX JIMMY (1) has the rail and small claim. Fitter and may be next best.
SELECTIONS: Backing Zazel.

DARWIN: RACE 2 @ 3:05 PM

NEW ENTERPRISE (3) has really come of age this season and made it two wins on the bounce when winning in this class nearly three weeks ago by a short head. He stays in the same grade and even though there is a query around the 1200 metres being far enough for him, he is still the one to beat. On top. GLOBAL WONDER (2) is knocking on the door in similar fields and he was the one who pushed the top pick close two starts back. He was runner-up again last time out and from the pole position, he will go close again. FROMTHENEVERNEVER (1) is racing his way back into full fitness and is backing up a week after finishing fourth last time out. He has a great record with Sonja Logan in the saddle and she is back on board here. Each-way value. TO THE POINT (4) just battled fresh up but he does improve quickly with a run under his belt. Include in all combinations. SWEET CHEVAL (5) was sent for a spell after having an issue in his last start. He is by no means the least of chances in this.
SELECTIONS: New Enterprise to win.
